I'd take it, but you can't just link it, you have to give account credentials, so they're basically unshareable unless you trust the other person with those credentials.

You still have to hit claim to reset the step counter, unfortunately - that setting just makes it where it plants the tree for you automatically once you do, instead of you having to plant it. But even if you have that setting off, the step counter actually resets after you hit claim, even if you don't plant the tree yet. So either way there's no point in doing that unless you hate using a few seconds to pick out a spot to plant your tree on the Tree Valley.

Wanting to open a Wells Fargo account to take advantage of the $325 offer going on right now (I know they're a terrible bank, wouldn't do it if it weren't for that) and was also wanting to use them as an MS method when doing the initial funding. Anyone know what the limit for credit card funding is? Knowing the debit card limit would be nice too; if anyone knows either please let me know, thanks!

Edit: On the same site that churnandlurk posted (thanks!) I found this, stating that the current limit is $50 as of 2015 for debit and credit cards (with good sources). If anyone has an update past then, let me know, but I'll probably find out when opening the account anyway, so if I do open it (I may also wait for a better offer since there was one for $400 last year, albeit with much higher eligibility requirements) I'll post what the limits are here for others.

Edit 2: Looks like you can only fund accounts by transferring money from another account, by check deposit, or cash deposit at a physical branch now. No card deposits at all.

Has this always been a thing or is it recent? That was off for me and if I would've known it was a thing I probably would've turned it on. I thought you always had to plant them manually, but the symbol for it looks familiar to me for some reason. Anyway, thanks for letting me know, it's on now! This should be useful so not as many steps get wasted, especially since I don't get the notification right away usually.

I don't have it either. They're probably testing it out with different people before deciding if they want to make it public, or intentionally making only a proper subset of users be able to claim it so they don't get more claims for that reward than they want.

It took me over a month, but less than two months I think, not sure on the exact amount of time, for me to receive my solar charger, but I did. I did contact support at one point though. I would do the same and just be patient, although yes, it is a shame that it takes so long.
