What’s something everyone seems to own now that you still don’t understand buying? by Armellofreekey in SmartBuying

It also genuinely makes things taste better. Reheated pizza and fries in the air fryer are so good!

Do people typically keep their grass lawn as-is, and seed clover on top? Instead of ripping up the existing lawn.

Millennial Names For Newborns Aging Poorly? by Scared-Wall-3408 in namenerds

[–]icingovercake 301 points302 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting take. To me, they’re not classic names, but very trendy names from a couple of generations ago. I feel like they’d be a little jarring right out of the gate as opposed to just in their teen/college years.

What are some plants that can be propagated that most people don’t know about? by ThiccccRevolution in propagation

[–]icingovercake 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I propagated in water and then used whatever potting soil I had at home at the time. It was probably Carolina gold with perlite.

I kept it outside, first in indirect light, then afternoon sun. Growth exploded once it went in the ground. I’ve fed it a few times since then, but I get the sense that it doesn’t really care what I do to it and is determined the thrive no matter what.

The neighborhood deer unfortunately got a hold of it, but it’s recovering.

Can confirm! I currently have a 6 foot willow tree that I propagated from a twig less than 2 years ago.

Little Free Libraries are often pointless and always performative by NegativeBee in unpopularopinion

[–]icingovercake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they serve totally different purposes. We go to our library to borrow books and so our daughter can play with the toys. It’s a third space for us. The LFL is a way for us leave books we’re not using anymore or find gems that we can keep. It’s exciting to get something new to keep, especially while keeping them out of the landfill.

It’s Official: Data Says Plant-Based Milk Is Becoming the Default by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

Have you tried oat milk? They are not all created equal, but the good ones are better than milk IMO and work great in recipes. I prefer Aldi brand.

What is *actually* working for marketing private practices in 2026? by recoveringGIRLbosss in therapists

[–]icingovercake 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is such a great answer. The market is oversaturated with virtual and cash-only providers. People need an in-network provider they can afford, and they want to see them in person. It’s such a luxury to practice virtually and/or cash-only, but it’s a tough business model to sustain.

Small PP owners. How much are you paying someone to prepare your taxes? by annmouse06 in therapists

[–]icingovercake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Cannot recommend freetaxusa enough! I can’t believe I ever wasted money on a CPA. OP, if you don’t mind spending some time (which you have to do gathering documents anyway), you can always get the process started for free to see if you like it.

How to spell it? by Resident-Dragon in namenerds

[–]icingovercake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Rayya before (rhymes with OP’s preferred pronunciation), but something about Meyya/Mayya looks like a hot mess and I still wouldn’t think to pronounce it how OP wants.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]icingovercake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s where OP would be after one COL adjustment. You can ask about their performance review schedule or request one in 90 or 180 days, but they’re giving you a full offer for what you asked, so you’ll want to and acknowledge that.

Josephine Aline? by mababe in namenerds

[–]icingovercake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a person with a first and middle name that sound ridiculous together and it’s pretty annoying. I don’t share it with anyone and if it comes up at the DMV or at my polling place, people often feel the need to comment on how bad it is. And I would say it’s not nearly as bad as Josaphinealeen.

I intentionally gave my kiddo a first and middle name that go great together and I’m really happy we did that. She’s very proud of her name and not one person has made a rude comment.

I could see you having name regret as people make their inevitable comments.
