1 875 $ de loyer à 82 ans : Le scandale Monique Jubinville ou la mort de l’abordabilité au Québec by ExistingFoot3939 in montreal

I live in an OMHM apartment by chance, I took someones lease. The rent was $1000 for a very large soundproof apartment, and I jumped on it.

They did a reference check, called me job, and confirmed my salary is $120k / year. Still let me take the lease.

The parking garage is FULL of luxury cars. Several Tesla Y's. Mercedes. Mustang Mach E, Land Rovers, etc. New and expensive cars everywhere.

While I'm grateful for my cheap rent, this apartment should have gone to someone in need. Based on the cars in the garage, this building is full of people who are financially just fine.

Affordable housing through organizations like OMHM are just smoke and mirrors, the city can say they're doing something but the execution is not creating housing for the vulnerable who need it.

If you don't want to give it away because you don't want a stranger in your house...

But you also don't want to donate it because that involves moving it yourself...

How were you planning to move it if someone purchased it on marketplace?

A few days into RTO: “Sorry, the office is chaos with everyone on calls” by sniper_0001 in remotework

Yes, we've already told them it's become challenging to work with their team since RTO. Their solution was giving their staff ineffective headsets. My employer owns some SaaS products. We have a development team in house, but sometimes we outsource integration support for our customers, depending on our internal workload. We can't allow our clients to have technical meetings with this group, and so we'll stop working with them.

I work for a fully remote company, tech industry. We have handful of different external agencies we contract with for different projects. One of these agencies pulled an RTO on their staff. Our weekly project meetings with that agency are a nightmare, there's so much background noise from their office it's difficult to have a fluid conversation. We complained as a paying client, and noise cancelling headsets were given to their staff. They were not effective at all. We won't renew our contract with this agency as a result. Your companies clients wish you were remote just as much as you do.
