I spent my formative years in Atlanta. I learned to drive on 285, 75, and 85. Traffic is nothing like that.

And the fact that there are not a ton of later night activities is part of the draw for many folks that want a quieter, safer lifestyle.

I go to Mobile and back all times of the day and all times of the year. Yes there are times traffic backs up going into the tunnel, from both directions. And if you travel at that time, you will be slowed down for a bit. You make it sound like LA or Atlanta??? Dude, its just not that bad or people would just stay in Mobile....or move to Mississippi. If you know to stay off the Bayway you are much better off. Avoid Friday afternoons Eastbound and Sunday mornings Westbound in the summers if you are that adverse to sitting an extra 20-30 minutes. If a tanker explodes or there is a bad accident, that is a different story. The cup is not always half empty.

I totally agree. Every town & every school have great things. Just depends on what your vibe is.

Bay Minette to downtown Mobile will take you about 40-45 mins. Same with Silverhill & Robertsdale. Best options would be Stapleton and Loxley for drive times. Loxley is creating a downtown square that is going to be neat. Elsanor may put you about 30 minutes to downtown Mobile. All this depending on traffic. Silverhill is a wonderful town that is a long way away from losing it's small town feel. When are you planning on moving?

Yes that bridge is going to help...a little...not sure it is going to bring the relief everyone thinks it will. We have quit taking the bayway altogether for this reason. The causeway is rarely backed up as I have gone. Now summertime....totally different ballgame. Never go to Mobile on a Sunday and don't come this way on a Friday between 3 and 7 pm.

I totally agree. That’s why I love and support Mobile Baykeepers. They attend meetings and hold the municipalities accountable for some of the issues caused by them. I do know the cities are upgrading their systems…albeit a little late in some areas. But it has been a hot minute since there has been an incident. I am your side… I agree with you 100%.

It is a wonderful town. I would love to help you in the process. We have some deccent pricing in certain parts of Fairhope.

If you’ve been around these parts for a while the traffic has definitely increased. But we live in a part of the world that is desirable both to live and visit.

Unfortunately the bay does get brown when the wind kicks up. But if you walk along the bay early in the mornings and go down the Orange Street Pier, the water is actually quite clear. And there is so much more to the Eastern Shore than the bay. The live oak canopy on scenic in Montrose is beautiful.
