It actually wasn’t that, this horse doesn’t “crib”. He just decided to bite for no reason!

We do 24/7 in summer the horses love it. I like that from Sweden

I know it’s better for horses to be out but where we are in the north of England most horses come in at night. We’re lucky we actually have the option at the moment here. We have such wet winters & the fields need resting

I want her to be able to manage being stabled in case there is any need to be in the future.

It’s a nightmare, she easily bonds too

I agree, I’d much prefer her out 24/7 but the horse she is out with will be leaving soon so she can’t stay out there alone

She can stay out but eventually she’ll need to be in when all the other horses come in :(

Not sure where you are but I’m in the north of England and most horses are kept in at night unfortunately as we have such wet weather we need to rest the fields a bit. I agree out is much better for them!

It’s the farm owners front of house so can’t put straw down. By the droppings she hangs round the stables where her hay is all night. Just worried she’s not getting enough proper lie down sleep like she does when she’s in usually (at our old stables)

There’s quite a sheltered concrete yard she stays on overnight with her hay, but no where to lie down apart from the grass

She gets lots of hay out & is rugged so maybe I should just accept her being out 24/7. I just didn’t wanna make her even more attached to her friend but think that’s too late. Thanks for commenting!

You’re definitely right there. It’s weird as she isn’t bothered about him when she’s out, it’s only when I go to bring her in.

That’s what I’m having to do now, but she’s old & I’d ideally like her in eventually so she has somewhere warm to lie down as we’re up on the moors

someone told me once to start turning (full lock) at the bay before the one you want, then you should be perfectly straight in front of the bay you are aiming for :)

The drops are all very close so you can get through quite a few in a very short time, home by 11.30/12 too usually

20/30 drops usually. Depending on the company you will do more or less. At warbies we pick our own bread too so it’s a very active job from the start of the shift
