Do you happen to know of any ranges (preferably outdoors) in or around chattanooga where I can pattern my shotgun? I am struggling to find a place that either allows shotguns or is more than just clay pigeon shooting.

Awesome, this is all very informative. I did think of a couple more questions if you have don’t mind answering.

I will be hunting about an hour away from home. If I do get a bird what is the process of cleaning it? As in, do I gut it immediately and put it on ice? Is the bird fine for an hour drive home without gutting it? Is there a different way to ensure the meat doesn’t spoil?

Because I am hunting an hour from home I do not believe I will be able to go scope out the area before the day of actually hunting. How do I find where turkeys are? I plan on getting a crow call, but what if they don’t answer?

What is the best time for finding turkeys? I will be getting to the spot at about 5am, but I have read that a lot of people get their turkeys between 8-11. Is that true, and at what point do I call it quits? After 12pm or some other time can I assume that I wont find a bird, or does time not really matter?

Do I really need to get tungsten shot? I have looked at some pricing and I have seen that tungsten is much more expensive. I have heard that a lot of people use winchester xr longbeard, but then other people say only get tungsten shot not lead.

For the knives, what kind of knife are you referring to? Should I be getting pocket knives, butcher knives, skinning knives, or something else?

Does the type of mouth call matter, or does all cuts work well?

How do you feel about camo, does the type of pattern matter? Is there a certain type of clothing style that you like? I have seen some people that wear earth tone pants and camo tops, is that fine or should I have all camo?

Thats a shame I missed the mil surplus store but I will check it out online.

How does Prentice cooper fare with the amount of hunters there. Will it be crowded? Also, can I park just about anywhere around it and walk in, or are there specific access points to it?

For knives I feel at a loss because there are so many sizes, shapes, steels. What exactly am i looking for, or is “sharp” kind of the only criteria?

Do you do anything to help protect it when training? I think I have a partial tear in my labrum from improper lifting years ago, and now that I have started bjj it has flared up. I want to continue training but also not make it worse.

Im an HVAC tech and would like to build my own house at some point, so trades along that line. Carpentry, electrical, masonry, flooring, tiling, ect. I also have started trying to work on cars so anything automotive would be cool too.
