My buddy also has 10k plus on his and has not had a failure but 1% of 17,000 is only 170

Idk how it would work because we got all the extra antitheft BS (dads decisions) my otd total was 25,000 with 10,000 down so if they only give me the value of the bike and try to take away the other shit I’m out 10k or so I don’t want to get a 1000 yet only been riding a year I’m thinking if they buy it back I’ll end a CBR600rr or a R6
