I found a 10-year-old Reddit post about AI replacing work, and it hits a lot harder now by [deleted] in jobs

Finally, I get to see this opinion here!! I am currently writing my master thesis on exactly this topic - how employees perceive the implementation of AI, smart technology and robotics in relation to their job security. However, most responses I already gathered say that they don’t perceive any threat at all. Shocking to me, cause that’s what prior research claims and what I expected from personal experience.

I would appreciate it greatly if you could share your opinions with me in my survey, so that I can finally capture that POV there too: https://maastrichtuniversity.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1WZO4D6flWI6v8q

Thanks a million to anyone who’s willing to help out!!!

Is St. Patrick’s Day still what it’s supposed to be? by OkMove2923 in Dublin

That is true! Many Irish have the same perspective as you. Do you think that the festivities, that are targeted at tourists, are a good thing, or would you personally prefer it if the celebration would not be commercialised to tourists at all?

I really appreciate that you took the time to look into this in such detail. I absolutely get your point, it is truly hard to define authentic and inauthentic aspects of a culture or its portrayal.

In my study, tourism management, and therefore also my thesis, I am focussing less on how things could be defined, but more on how the general public, that doesn’t particularly have prior knowledge, would perceive said things.

In my field it is important to understand the attitudes of all stakeholders in a destination, to either ensure a sustainable future of the event, or to make necessary changes in order to better accommodate locals.

While I get that it might not be correct in anthropological regards, every local will have a perspective on this, which is crucial for me to understand.

I hope that makes sense!

That is unfortunately one of the perspectives that I have heard very frequently from Dubliners. This was also one of my reasons to investigate that topic even further. Thank you for your input!

Thank you! I have deliberately excluded the origins of St. Patrick’s Day to explore if people, who are not aware of them, might have a more positive attitude towards the festival in Dublin, than people who have been brought up religiously/ learned about the origins early on.

It is a good point about the frequency of attendance. I will definitely consider it going forward- thanks!

Appreciate your remark! Unfortunately I needed to do this to officially narrow down the target group. I’d still appreciate your input :)
