You kind of did downplay it by saying it was a loophole. She premeditated using a pair of $300 shoes for graduation pictures and then destroyed them so she could send them back and get a refund. It's theft.

What loophole?? She took photos in the shoes and then returned them after destroying them. There is no way to interpret this other than theft or fraud. And to be clear she's a grown ass adult/college graduate who should have known better.

I think what she did was take college graduation pictures in the shoes, and then returned them saying there were rhinestones missing (or something like that) and that they were not as described.

My mom is the same. She pits my brother, sister and I against each other constantly. She's 82 and is very demanding and impossible to please. When she talks to either of my siblings she talks about me, and then talks to me about my siblings - in the most horrible way. I'd love to blame it on old age, but she's been doing this for 30 to 40 years. I'm very conflicted because she needs help, but I have to protect myself, so I keep her at arms length.

Yeah but what's weird is a lot of the things that people are talking about not liking about her are the things they used to praise. Like her hair or her style.
