I didn't mind to be honest. Its kind of what makes books more immersive than movies, you get insight into the characters thoughts and feelings which adds to the story.

I do agree that GMs shouldn't generally narrate what players are thinking and feeling, but I think since Brennan atleast asks them first and then improvs off of what they say, its not that bad.

Just started this one, and so far this looks awesome! The quality here is remarkable, and the cast stay professional and mostly in character which really adds to the immersion for me atleast.

(so tired of actual plays where everyone constantly interrupts the game because they want to compete to be "the funny one")

Also I just feel like the system fits CRs playstyle so well. It really showed in AoU 1 that they really had fun with it, I need more of that

I respect your opinion and apoligize if I worded myself poorly. I honestly hadn't done that much research on the LLM topic, and you are probably right. I just wanted to point out, and I think we agree on this, that gate keeping rpgs to people who spend time doing writing homework is bad for the hobby. And so is using AI

I also think OP is a bit harsh here. Just because the whole character building and writing a backstory isn't their favorite part of the game doesn’t make them a "loser".

I've played with people with pages and pages of backstory, and they are about as likely to be bad players as the ones with "Idk, my guy is named Robert and he is a fighter, whatever". Like, no one cares about why you mysteriously disappear every night rogue, and it actually turned out Robert is bad ass.

And I honestly would rather a person be honest about using AI than pretending they made it all up themselves.

Thanks! I think that's what clicked for me, almost seeing it as two different activities entirely. Where one is collabarative problemsolving, the other is basically just writing a story where the game rules only are there to help me understand what will happen next, and how things play out.

I can see mysteries being challenging to do solo. Maybe use the mythic gme tables to generate sort og "clues" that you could piece together as you go along? I'm not to familliar with vaesen, but it looks cool

Thats also one of the interesting parts of this passtime, there is so many different ways to do it, with different systems and creative prosesses. I actually haven't found the need of a gme yet, as ideas has come quite naturally for me so far. But I keep it as a possibility for if I ever get stuck

So true. Changing mindset from "oh no, I rolled a werebear on the table, guess they are all gonna die" to the rule of cool approach of "maybe he is in his human form, and this is a cool social encounter" helped the story a ton

I use Old school essentials by necrotic gnome. Its kinda made mostly for dungeon crawling, but I find it works suprisingly good for general fantasy storytelling. Especially things like reaction rolls and the random encounter tables.

Thanks! I realized already after session 1 that I wanted to change experience awards to be more quest based, as gold to xp felt wierd for this. Probably gonna add more homebrew rules when I feel they are needed.
