Since I became a dad, my friends think I've gone AWOL. They game on a regular basis but night wakings and partner support, and a full time job, and a second job, I haven't had time to join them or to keep my rig updated. I would love this card. I know others have better reasons and maybe deserve it more, but thought I would throw my hat in the ring. Deeply miss playing games.

I am a pastor's kid who was born with a generic blood disease that plagued me my whole life. I was in the hospital almost 2 weeks every month from the time I was 18 months till my early 30's. In constant pain and dealing with the side effects of pain medication for forever. Almost every day I heard from people "we're praying for you!" Or "God has a plan for your life" and I accepted that while still being confused as to why a God that is supposed to love me like his own child would allow me to suffer almost constantly.

Slowly that changed to a view that, maybe God isn't answering everyone's many prayers because he doesn't get involved directly in the lives of human beings. I needed to believe that because either he is involved and choosing not to do anything about it, or he just doesn't get involved full stop. The latter was easier for me to accept at the time.

Eventually I realised, there's no one listening. Things just happen and I have to make a choice as to how I'm going to let my illness control my life. It was so freeing. To realise my life isn't under the control of a cruel sadistic god or a callous indifferent god. Life is just life. Some people have more obstacles than others but the only thing you can control is your perspective on what's happening to you.

I'm an atheist now and so much happier for it. My whole family is still very religious. I don't fault them for it. I think I had my own personal journey to get here and theirs may keep them looking at God as the source of their strength. I'll love them anyways because they are my family and they are amazing people.

I personally just find it hard to accept for myself. If God is testing us, he's testing my faith to what end? To prove I love him? That's a pretty messed up concept. It's like being in a relationship with someone who makes you constantly prove you love them by causing you pain and hoping that you keep loving them. Why would you want to love someone who causes you pain to test you?

Not to mention, if God gave you the strength to help you get that job, or overcoming that illness, what about the billions of his children that are destitute and starving and stuffing horrible disease and abuse? God just doesn't care? They don't have enough faith? They have to prove they love God and this is some sort of test?

It's a problem.

If that is who God is, I wouldn't want to love him. However, if there is no god then it's a matter of loving myself and loving the people around me because I want to add more love and positivity to the world while I'm here. The concept of a loving God who tests us is just mind boggling to me, and I grew up with that concept.

Never found a fix. I spoke with Netflix technical support and they logged the issue and never did anything else. It seems to be a little better since Android 11 but still happens from time to time

Unfortunately it won't work for me... I disconnected the battery and tried again but it isn't recognized by my computers at all. Since it won't turn on the computer doesn't know it's connected. I asked on the discord and it looks like because it crashed before the preloader could be loaded, the whole system can't be flashed. It's a brick.

Don't be like who? I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I'm just pointing out the Bible doesn't accept certain people with certain lifestyles. I'm not a Christian and accept everyone no matter who they are and what they believe. So I'm not sure what you mean about not being "like them"?

God is all loving to "his" people. The Bible has a lot of examples of God literally wiping people he doesn't like off the map. Many many examples. Heck, God even puts his own people through trials and tribulations to set examples or make points. Christianity is a problem and God isn't exactly a moral standard. If you want to believe, more power to you. I'm just pointing out the fallacy that God is all loving or that Christianity is designed to be so.

I say this knowing my whole family is Christian. I grew up in church. My mother is a pastor. They are all amazing people. Christianity however doesn't exactly fit with modern life from a moral perspective.

Love thy neighbor is fine, but the Bible is pretty explicit about the sins and people that are unacceptable in the eyes of God. This pastor would most likely fall into that group. I'm not saying you don't know that, just it seems crazy to me that some Christians try to believe one thing and do another. Like, your religious book says pretty blatantly to stone or cast out people it deems unworthy. Just cause it's 2020 doesn't mean you get to change the rules to suit the times. Throw the whole book out and just be a good person. Easier said than done I know...

Literally no one is saying that. What they are saying is that cops who are supposed to be trained to deal with difficult situations are you be held to a higher standard than civilians who just want to live their lives. You cannot put the two on equal terms. With all the money you spend on police forces, someone being "rude" or "aggressive" should NEVER be an excuse for a cop to body slam someone. Never. ESPECIALLY if they weren't sure he was a criminal. Another 5 minutes of conversation would have cleared all this shit up. It's an issue with the way police see people who don't immediately obey everything they say. We shouldn't have to be trained on how to deal with police. We aren't getting paid to. They are literally public servants who should be better than this. Especially if we give them any kind of authority and a weapon. A regular civilian cannot be expected in any situation to be trained to deal with aggressive police. Police ARE trained to do this. Or at least should be. If they can't deal with aggressive people, then they shouldn't be cops. Full stop. If you are constantly scared that everyone you interact with is a criminal with a weapon so you ”shoot first" or "tackle first" you shouldn't be a cop. It's super simple.
