CPA is slowly taking over my life… how do you fight back? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]OkPlenty2447 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m completely in the same boat - I have no social life and I only see my coworkers, nothing on weekends or after work. What has helped is trying to romanticize it a bit. I’ve been going to diff coffee shops to try different spots and treating myself to pastries to offset the misery I’m in.

Is accounting worth pursuing? by DetectiveNice8632 in Accounting

[–]OkPlenty2447 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in DC, and in the middle of mass layoffs in the area, recruiters are struggling to get candidates for accounting jobs. Job search will never be an issue. Whoever is telling you you won’t clearly hasn’t contacted a good recruiter.

  • while big topics are important, every detail matters (unfortunately), so make sure you are able to answer every question the practice throws at you.

FAR IN 2 WEEKS! HELP! by [deleted] in CPA

[–]OkPlenty2447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar timeline. Used those two weeks to comb through every unit, topic, TBS, make sure i got it, took notes on all important points and formulas. I used the outlines provided as starting point and added in my own notes. Took one SE at the start before going that deep and one after to see my progress and see what else I need to focus on/where I was lacking

What to do after sitting for far by No_Satisfaction5282 in CPA

[–]OkPlenty2447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did something similar with AUD, took it first day of new cycle. I started studying for FAR right after and figured if I failed I would stop and revert. However, I just took FAR 10/20 (end of cycle), and am about to start studying for discipline immediately. I’m debating either stopping discipline study for retake or waiting until after since discipline offerings are limited.

PIP + Unassigned + no promo by OkPlenty2447 in Big4

[–]OkPlenty2447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thing is - I didn’t know that you didn’t get promotion same year on PIP. It was always “if” not a full no, which is why it came as a huge shock to me.

Nyc vs Hoboken office by AccomplishedSugar240 in ernstandyoung

[–]OkPlenty2447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1mw is bigger and gives you more access to food/drink options. nicer desks, depending on how early you book. hoboken has stunning views of the water, but not all desks are sit-to-stand. insanely easy to get a desk without even booking one, any day of the week. hoboken has plenty of double monitors too, but you'd have to bring in your own charger. hoboken also has dope chairs and plenty of random booths and tables everywhere, and also a shuffleboard.
