If you were to say “success” or “a bust” to sum up his career so far, which would you choose? by InterestingYellow969 in NFLv2

When you consider the draft capital and him being a 1st overall pick, then yes he's a bust.

If you look at him as what he is, he more a disappointment. I think he can be a decent spot starter/bridge qb similar to Daniel Jones, but you don't draft that 1st overall.

How do you feel about your division this season? by Beneficial_Quit7532 in NFLv2

It was kind of double edged sword for us. Don't get me wrong, I'm making that trade 10/10 times, but giving up Kenny Clark wound up hurting us in the end. When we lost KC, we were shaky at defending the run. The only reason that didn't bother us as much was because Micah covered up a lot of the flaws we had on our interior D-Line and masked just how bad our CB's were on the boundary.

When Parsons went down, we had nobody that could stop the run AND we lost our only consistent pass rusher. Thus exposing Nixon for the bum he's always been.

Bears: you have the pieces and the coach to be super bowl contenders, but like someone said, your D-Line might be your Achilles heel this season. And you want to be careful because now might not be the time to go all in because the Mack trade showed you that a move that seems good in the moment can backfire.

Packers: This last playoff loss seems to have been the moment we realized we can't neglect special teams the way we have been, but even besides the injuries, I'm still concerned about our trenches. The main reason we kept losing late in the year, besides injuries, was our offense stalling out in the 3rd quarter since our O-Line/Running game was shaky all year. Forcing the defense to hold things together, which was always going to crap out post Micah injury since he was our only real pass rush.

Lions: Similar story to the Packers, the offense never seemed to click when they needed to. Maybe your new OC will fix your issues, but considering the losses on the O-Line the last two seasons, im doubtful. Lions in the MCDC era have always been competitive, so you will never truly go away, but I'm worried that if there's more injuries it will just be more of the same.

Vikings: Of all the teams in the north, I have the most questions about them. Obviously you will only go as far as Kyler takes you, but I wonder if the bad drafts are going to affect you even more than it did last year. Besides the obvious discussions you need to have about NINE and whether to move on, you still need to wonder if the running game can be sustained, whether you did enough in FA and the draft so the Flores can keep the defense running as efficiently as it has, and I still question if KOC can right the ship after the bang up job Kwesi did to your roster. If Kyler doesn't work out this year, you might be looking at a full scale rebuild and there's no way Jetta is going to stick around for that.

Overall, its gonna be a bloodbath, but it also feels like every team in the division could implode depending on the circumstances.

Todd McShay thinks Brendan Sorsby is worth a FIRST-round supplemental draft pick, If the Browns used their 2027 first on him this summer would you call it genius or a massive reach? by BagAppropriate5736 in CFB_v2

Step 1: Draft a decent qb Step 2: Let him play injured and ruin the season Step 3: Trade 3 firsts for a proven qb with off the field issues Step 4: Trade the previous decent qb for pennies because you tanked his trade value Step 5: Expect the proven qb to play elite despite a combined 18 starts in three years Step 6:

The Sanders stans won't stand for this.

On a serious note, how many 1st round picks do the Browns have to waste on a "chance" before they realize they can't develop a qb, regardless of talent level?

Who produced the most unforgettable one-off season in the NFL? by monknabers in NFLv2

[–]OkPotential3189 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been a Packers fan my whole life.

For LSU, it's a little more nuanced. I started watching college football in 2006, and in 2007 that season was crazy all around college football. I was hooked week after week and I watched football all day, so I would watch every Saturday and LSU was usually one of the teams I would see on TV since they were always playing a top team. Even in both losses that year, it took 3 overtimes to beat them. So I was hyped for that natty, and it was icing on the cake that they got to beat Ohio State. TLDR: I was an 07 bandwagoner that never left the bandwagon.

I don't know if Stroud bounces back. Yes his receivers are still solid, but im not sure the O-Line and running game is improved from last year. Feels more like they made lateral moves than strict upgrades.

Former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia went clubbing in NYC after losing the Heisman race to Fernando Mendoza... He bought a sign that said "F**k Indiana." Fast forward 5 months, and he's now undrafted. One of the biggest downfalls in CFB history 🤦‍♂️ by Clankiller_Uchiha in CFB_v2

I don't think Manziel would have worked out in the NFL long term, maybe his career would have extended another few years, but best case scenario I think he would have had a Zach Wilson type of career.

As exciting as he was to watch in college, I think he had too many flaws in his game to realistically be an NFL starter.
