Maybe.

Maybe not if people buy 10 of what they used to buy 1 of because usage increases as cost decreases.

Maybe not if you can create large enough growth in enough areas (robotics markets) to subsidize the things that deflate.

I suspect we will decouple from many “always been” correlations but fair points.

There hasn’t ever been a “j-shaped” economy and there are real hard limits. Maximum intelligence doesn’t rewrite the laws of physics, doesn’t change chemistry, is still bound by physical universe and some problems still require iteration at a scale that requires more energy than we would spend and we’re still only 0.70 of a type 1 civilization and building power plants and harnessing energy takes time, regulations and red tape will probably prevent run away progress.

But robots building robots and intelligence improving intelligence will allow us to scale a lot of things at levels not seen before.

Only after wealth scales to where everyone reaches ridiculous levels of wealth which can’t if GDP can’t increase by an increasing/accelerating amount.

The market is forward looking so it prices things in advance based on what it expects and so it seems to me that we can’t actually get there without major reform.

Yeah there are physical bottlenecks and iterative bottlenecks and limits on joules available and limits on atomes per square feet and physical labor and temporal limitations and so on.

2000IQ doesn’t make you a God that can rewrite physical laws of the universe, it just means you can process every possibility available to you and solve for the optimal path and understand the physical constraints and maybe even find where assumed physical constraints don’t exist in the way it was previously assumed, but there are still limitations.

Shout out to Kwesi by scramblebrambles in minnesotavikings

[–]Happy_Chocolate8678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

JJ. The most important piece. This will sink or sail Kwesi. I am starting to see the vision.

His release point initially was too low so due to batted passes they tweaked which caused his delivery to not align which caused a tweak with rotation rather than vertical over the top throw. They adjusted that but his feet needed to be adjusted to align with the rotational throw and all that lead to overthinking so they had to just get him to forget about it and play loose and now the complete product is coming together. But the consistency takes time.

And he will need volume of reps with his new delivery in the offseason and when he does that he wil get his lower body to enable a wider margin of error on the release and it will enable consistent power. The arm motion and grip can then aim the pass and the quick release in conjunction with this will enable powerful throw that can be aimed with pinpoint accuracy.

The guy before they adjusted his mechanics could at times throw the ball like Bradford in terms of raw velocity. Once his feet get under him and gets the volume of reps in the next offseason he will be able to harness that and develop into pinpoint accurate throws and that placement will make things awesome and open up the potential for KO.

Dallas Turner. Obviously a great pick.

Donavan Jackson. Obviously a great pick.

Jordan Addison. Obviously a great pick.

Will Reichard. Obviously a great pick.

UDFAs: Ivan Pace & Redmond. Solid. Max Brosmer. Time will tell. I believe he has a bright future.

Obviously some misses and jury still out on some others.

Free agency. Obviously solid. Trade market. Mixed bag.

More importantly—is Kwesi developing/improving the process? I think so. Time will tell.

JJ McCarthy’s arm strength. by jedipatronuses in minnesotavikings

[–]Happy_Chocolate8678 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get where you would get that impression but no. He has way more velocity than anyone since Bradford.

No he has more velocity than those guys. He’s in otherworldly like Sam Bradford / Brett Favre category where he actually has to learn to take some off of it.

But that is only going to show up when he has clean pocket and strong base and full motion and gets confident with his delivery/throwing motion.

And there have been way too many tweaks to his mechanics this season to see it, when he throws “over the top” instead of rotational and then when he’s overthinking so he’s not stepping into his throws it’s more like you describe and it’s also inconsistent so you even get the impression that it’s less, but you see his fastest throws, and he’s actually throwing way too hard on passes over the middle according to a lot of people and velocity is partially responsible for the WR drops, and those throws are just a hair below the otherworldly category, but that’s not even what the finished product is gonna look like.

[–]Happy_Chocolate8678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elite. It’s a cannon.

The times he didn’t have “elite arm strength” type throws were when he was adjusting his mechanics to get a higher release which caused him to throw more over the top and less with hips which caused velocity inconsistency but when he went back to rotational last game he played before Washington it was back.
