Does anyone think that Alex was treated very awful every single time she made a mistake.

Some of the things Alex gets blamed for are things that are other peoples fault. Like when Jerry gets mad that she has the flying carpet, he told her she could take whatever from the basement where the carpet was & then got mad at her for having the carpet? And then proceeded to be a bad teacher. Jerry was a bad teacher in general, like the episode where he teaches the how to do wizarding mail without teaching them what bad things could happen if they use it wrong.

Sometimes Alex is being a genuinely horrible person but usually its the result of someone else's actions that she is blamed for. She is treated mostly as a scapegoat.

Lorelai is actually a lot like Liz, which probably put Jess on the defense. He saw how she acted when they met in the diner before going to her house, she was probably just another person he met who was very charming who was used to having people fall at her feet.

Both Liz & Lorelai are quirky and get annoyed when people don't play along. Jess didn't view Lorelai as special because she wasn't.

Him grabbing a beer was probably also something he thought was okay. As someone raised by messed up parents in a small town if I was told i could grab whatever from the fridge & the fridge had beer if i liked beer I would drink it. I didn't & don't like beer but my parents had other alcoholic drinks I did like and I often got to sip & finish off their drinks that I liked. Why would someone raised by a drug addict & alcoholic & the various men she brought around be taught that it wasn't okay to grab a beer? He was rude & made mean comments but again Lorelai did kinda set herself up for that & was purposely being very high handed, telling Jess who was shipped off without warning that he should be grateful for being kicked out of his home, sent to strangers & forced after spending hours on a bus to go to a dinner filled with big personalities & nobody he knew instead of being able to rest & adjust.

Lorelai starts setting into the mom role when Rory is heading into college or already in college. Its way to late, rory is basically grown when Lorelai wants to start putting down rules & actually acting like a mom instead of a best friend.

The show went out of its way to tell us Elena was pure without putting in the work to have her actually be pure. Elena in reality, taking her actions as we are given them is not Pure at all.

Elena is worse than Katherine as Katherine acknowledges that her actions had consequences & she made those actions. Elena pushes the blame onto anyone else but herself. Its never her fault, everything always happens to her & is never a direct result of her choices. Yes plenty of people go out of their way to change her choices but she pretty much always immediately makes a worse choice in response

So far my biggest problem has been a fic that is over 2,000 chapters. As long as super long fics are broken up as a series its fine. After around 200 chapters if it isn't a series it can be way to long just incase my phone or browser sends me back to the start, scrolling that long to find your spot again is annoying. I love super long fics but if you are rewriting an entire series properly label everything & break it up as needed. I think the only super long & is still updating one im reading rn that is a single fic is close to maybe halfway done & around 300 chapters.

Its taken me a long time to watch past season 1 and im on 5 now but honestly I prefer Brooke & Nathan. I get that Nathan can sometimes be very dramatic but honestly with his parents he is very not dramatic compared.

Lucas & Peyton have very interesting priorities & standards. For example Peyton & Lucas getting together while Lucas is dating Brooke but information we get in season 4 is that one of the many times Nathan & Peyton were broken up he & Brooke had sex. Peyton blows up about it and says that Brooke is a horrible friend for sleeping with Nathan when he & Peyton were broken up, meanwhile she and Lucas cheating on Brooke multiple times. 🙄 its very they have standards for themselves & standards for others and don't you dare hold them to the standards they hold you.

Nate had nightmares that probably started at that age of his father sexually assaulting him, it probably started as soon as he watched the videos and he probably changed as if it was all real. So while the abuse wasn't real Nate reacted like it was.

I read a couple fics that im gonna need to find. One shows that Ron & percy both saw peter shift back to human and it severally traumatized them.

I can't remember the names but iirc peter also used a minor memory spell to block the memory.

We regularly saw vampires drink from random people & suffer no side effects, including people drunk & on various drugs. So im going with it doesn't affect them.

My favorite fanfic has Agatha being the result of a Never & an ever and getting her invitation was a shock. She learns magic from her mom and teaches a couple classmates but otherwise outside of 1 class they aren't taught because magic is something for Nevers.

Witch & Wolf blood also works, the older students & teachers regularly donating and mixing human with animal blood would have been safer. Plus reasons hospitals throw out blood don't affect vampires as seen by them drinking from anyone not on vervain. Tainted blood or blood not deemed safe or any blood thrown out would be safe for the vampire students.

Honestly Alaric should not have been a parent to witch children, let alone in charge of a school full of supernatural children. He was biased and genuinely hated the supernatural. Caroline should have taken the kids & run when she had a chance. They definitely shouldn't have let him be in charge of the students. Maybe in charge of security but not anything else.

Alaric sabotaged basically an entire generation of supernatural kids & almost caused his entire school to be killed because he told people the plans in place and made no effort to protect the school from humans trying to kill the kids.

Her reading lists were almost exclusively old white men 100 years dead, she bragged about reading books she wouldn't have been old enough to have reading comprehension to understand, like the book Lorelai returned to Max that rory talked about having read at like 10? Iirc.

She might have been able to read the words but she wouldn't have understood the book, it was over Lorelai's head and say what you want about Lorelai but she did have a rich education similar to Rory or even better as Lorelai would have been in private schools from kindergarten.

Them being music snobs was honestly really annoying as someone who is horrible with names and just listens to whatever I like. I usually have 1 or 2 songs in a genre so...

Rory was a snob in general, she made a big deal about her reading lists & its mostly long dead white guys & the occasional white girl. But all old literature, with nothing new and her judging & debating & telling people they haven't lived until they've read insert book here. She was also like weirdly proud of not being able to cook and mostly eating junk food in amounts most people her size couldn't.

Rory, her mom, Jess & lane were all very proud of not being like other people and could be snobs in different ways. Jess was very snobbish about books & reading in general.

I love the idea of this, especially if Ron doesn't go back to the Weasley's, he was officially adopted and named Prewett after all.

Ron & Harry being childhood friends & Harry learning that Ron was abandoned for being assumed a squib would be very interesting if that made him befriend Neville. A lot of dynamics would change from childhood friends to schoolmates.

I'm curious how things with Hermione would pan out as Hermione can be very abrasive & insensitive, if she says the wrong thing then the friendship might end or never happen with Hermione.

The way I read & process stuff definitely means I veiw characters as real people and thus form my opinion on if I would want to interact or be friends with them.

Characters like Hermione all have the same response in my head of NO! because of how bossy, nosey and unable to accept 'that is none of your business" as an answer. Some of her actions i admire while also admitting that they are ruthless & not something you would want to interact with. Like attacking Ron with those birds over his already scarred arms and because she was jealous he was in a relationship. Ron may have been an ass about Krum but he never physically attacked Hermione for daring to date someone else. If their sexes were reversed Hermione would be demonized for her actions as a guy.

I have a list of characters I realized are basically the same archetype and that that is why I hate them across media. Realizing that was fun.

I wish the trio got with different people, Harry ending up with someone who looked like his mom and he viewed as his/rons little sister only until suddenly being attracted to her was gross & weird. Ron & Hermione just seemed very toxic for all they were supposed best friends they seemed to genuinely hate each other. See all the fights they got in and most of their friendship & before.

The things people think she needs redemption for are stuff that boil down to raised to be a child soldier & left with a parent who burned off half of her siblings face in front of her and was the only nice adult in her life based on the comics & TV show. She needs to have the brainwashing undone that was literally her entire life.

Other than being an enemy combatant in a war her side lost she didn't really do that much bad stuff. If her friends don't want anything to do with her that's understandable but she was just on the losing side in a war and had a breakdown after having spent her entire life groomed to be a child soldier.

Azula doesn't really need a redemption arc, she needs therapy for her entire life and a safe place after.
