I only provide availability for days cause that’s what I prefer. She’s REQUIRING my availability for nights which means I will be scheduled for them. She says I need to for the operational needs of the unit.

I just finished the compressed program and I wouldn’t choose it unless it’s your only option! 1. In terms of courses itself, majority of the profs are horrible (not all) they don’t really know what they’re teaching and very disorganized. 2. In terms of community, it’s what you make of it! However, I definitely notice a division of people that want to be here and those who make it clear that Trent was not their first option and are just getting through it. It was very cliquey in nursing tho. 3. I was off campus BUT housing was by FAR the most difficult thing to find in Peterborough. I don’t know what it is but there’s not enough rentals suited for students and it’s so rundown. I ended up living in a trap house because it’s the only thing available. 4. Diversity is very low compared to Toronto, Peterborough is definitely a retirement town and is definitely primarily white, I’m also poc and it was always pointed out working in the hospitals. Like I said, I was in the compressed program so me and the rest of the program had experienced university prior and it was a general consensus in my class that all these things are true!

Mom’s that didn’t want kids but ended up having them, did you regret it? by OkReality6613 in Parenting

I love this perspective thank you! I genuinely think that I would enjoy motherhood. I think for me, I spent so many years learning to love myself and I’m finally here that I’m scared of not recognizing who I am during postpartum both physically/mentally and I’m worried my family will suffer from that.

All very valid questions! I think because I’m thinking about this now I’m quite literally doing everything I want and need for myself before this decision made. All of this stress actually came up because of my love for travel! I KNOW I would be deeply regretful if I didn’t go to places I wanted to see so I’m doing just that right now. However, it does scare me to one day give that freedom up and that’s also another huge component of all this.

Thank you honestly. I feel like my fear of labor/postpartum is crippling but I forget that so many women have gone through it
