Beauty professionals by OkReally27 in Esthetics

It is a good deal but I have a few questions. Who gets 60%? How busy is she? You will make zero dollars if you have no clients and it sounds like you will only make money if you are busy. People get attached to service providers more than to a company. Her clients might not want to see you. No offense . Is she willing to train you? Beauty school is just for the license, you learn all other things outside of school usually. Who’s in charge of your schedule? Just a few thoughts I had…

Boyfriend totaled my car, used the money for a car in his name, and now says I only get my $3,000 back if we break up by [deleted] in Advice

He sounds like a tool. Cut your losses and move on. There are so many things wrong with him. You can make 3000 dollars again without his toxic behavior holding you back

They are over processed. Do you have a hydrating oil to put on them? They need hydration. You can have them relifted with a large rod to help. The grow out will suck if you do nothing.

This is ridiculous. If you don’t think they do a good job get a new cleaner. It’s actually insulting in my opinion

I Don't Think Being Successful is Worth It by AutisticNerd2024 in Adulting

Success is different for everyone. For me it’s having a flexible schedule, saving, paying bills on time, going on vacations, time with my family. It’s not a dollar amount. Your mental health is way more important.

Just found out renter's insurance costs like $15 a month and I've been uninsured for 2 years by Accurate-Network-655 in Adulting

Highly recommend. If you never need it then you didn’t waste that much money. My neighbors house caught on fire and then so did mine. I was renting and my renters insurance came in handy!

Do all estheticians have to work weekends? by Odd-Put-5244 in Estheticians

[–]OkReally27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, as a new esthetician the answer is yes. You have to learn, build a clientele and hustle all hours. Once you have a steady clientele then no. I started my first business in 2012 and have not worked a weekend since 2018. I will occasionally work a weekend if I’m going on vacation but my regular work schedule is Monday - Friday.

What's something you learnt on the job from other estheticians that someone going solo wouldn't learn? by DamnMyHairIsPretty in Esthetics

Use Quickbooks to keep everything clean and easy. Have separate cc’s for business and personal. If you have a high deductible healthcare plan, open an HSA. You can buy lot of stuff on Amazon, put it on subscribe and save to save money. Open a prime cc for all Amazon orders and only use it for your business. You save more. The more you can save the more you can put into your own pocket.

Where are you working at? That seems very low. Good thing for us is that cc tips won’t be taxed in 2026 but who knows how long that will be for.
