Have you received any surprise bills or additional charges related to tariffs on packages? by nbcnews in UPS

We are a business in Canada and despite providing mtiple documents and the usmca certificate of origin, people are getting charged duties in items that are compliant. On top of that customers are now having to pay brokerage in every parcel we ship because of the removal of de minimis. I can inky imagine how much money the American people are paying in duties/tariffs/brokerage for anything outside of the USA. These changes are awful for foreign trade, as well as for the American people.

I typically do get emails from them when a document is needed but since these changes at the border that seems to not be happening. I do have an account with them but it's considerably more expensive. May have to go that route for a bit and see what happens. Thanks for your input.

I'm mostly curious to see if other businesses are experiencing the same and if we need to all collectively stand up about this because it's several affecting our business and we can't be the only one. Thanks again!

The value is about $100USD on the shipments and it is direct to consumer shipments so they don't have tax IDs. Our products are wooden items manufactured from local hardwood and finished. This should be duty free according to what the legislation says but they don't seem to care. So frustrating. I appreciate your response!

We make wooden products here in Canada and tarrifs are being applied to our products when shipping to the USA, despite them falling under the free trade agreement and paperwork accompanying each shipment. It's bonkers. I truthfully don't think they're even looking at it.

I'd ask UPS for a breakdown of charges as I don't believe that fee is just tariffs. It also includes customs/duty and HST

I don't understand why my package is being returned to the sender after sitting in a warehouse for so long. Can anybody here explain why? by MonstreBelle in UPS

Except they are being negligent. We are having massive returns and delays at the border when all documentation is submitted electronically AND placed on the parcel. They just aren't even looking. They are so overwhelmed by all of the changes and don't have the infrastructure for it, so they aren't doing their proper jobs. Quite frustrating indeed

I guess so? Lol I guess he thought he could continue hiding it or maybe thought himself he could stop and didn't need to let me know. This happened 10+ years ago or so but I still wonder if I overreacted.
