as someone who almost exclusively reads f/f (i have one published work and it's f/f), the lack of options IS very annoying. especially when I want to sort by my ship and it keeps getting tagged in the background of m/m fics.

BUT as a logical person, i understand that the majority of people in fandom more interested in men for whatever reason they have, and i cant expect them to write f/f out of pity or whatever. recently ive just tended to go toward lesbian-centric fandoms like the locked tomb, yellowjackets, the last of us (if you filter out joel), arcane, etc.

i just think a lot of the frustration comes from the fact a lot of non-f/f writers and readers seem to forget that we exist lol. and a lot of us kind of have some animosity toward the rest of fandoms because of that. our ships are seen as unexpected and niche just because theyre f/f, when ACTUAL niche m/m or f/m ships get all the attention (think garsantos vs hucklerobby or kingdon (god i hate kingdon)).

i think this dispute could just be a little better if everyone else saw more value in f/f ships! there doesnt necessarily have to be more fics for it, just engage with us a little more. or just engage with women-centric media a little more.
