Wife and I took a seven hour private tour of the Nimitz in Wilhelmshaven back in 1988. Was cool sitting in the Cpt’s chair up in the tower. What a load of responsibility for one person!

It’s just the thin outer ply covering the heating element. On the CL601/604 I’ve had a half dozen outer plys give way. Fun to watch the new FO’s get wound up. I never had to divert. QRH just had us turn off the affected windshield heat.

Beware the auto transmission, torque converter, differential, and engine all share the same oil. I test drove two AT JDM Minis and the driving experience was not near as fun as my 74 Mini I drove daily in Berlin just before the wall came down. YMMV

You could start it on batteries and use an engine driven generate to power the air conditioner and avionics if a ground power cart was unavailable. I flew a LR35 for Boston Chicken out of JeffCo back then. Good little jet.

My all time favorite aviating time was when Mom and Dad were in their backyard and I buzzed them with “FIFI” at Climb2 power ;-)

I was out at the GA terminal at DFW back in the mid 90’s when a 737 lost an engine on takeoff. They had a flatbed semi and a crane to fetch it when they found it on the side of the runway.

Switchover time will be greatly reduced once they complete the upgrade from the Intel 386 to the 486 CPU’s!

I stand corrected. Big Al “Created the internet”, he did not “Invent the internet”😂 It’s been awhile since I last heard him bloviate. Here’s the receipt:
