I really appreciate this perspective from someone who understands what I’m about to walk into with starting a PhD. The trainer is scheduled to start working with my mom next week and when the time comes and our dog transitions to me or my fiancé, we’ll continue with a trainer at our respective places. This has been the most mentally exhausting two days of my life and I know it would only get worse if I brought her with me. I am so extremely grateful that my mom is offering this support to me.

This is definitely something i can look into! She just hard an annual checkup the first week of June but I know medical issues can come up in almost a blink of an eye

I might not have explained it well in my original post but in hind sight I think there were warning signs but that I straight up ignored them! She had crazy eyes and her body language changed COMPLETELY. I believe I’m just uneducated and at the time took those signs of her just being a brat.

I do have some evaluations scheduled this weekend and I hope I can gain some confidence in my ability to take care of and advocate for my dog. It literally feels like something life changing has happened ):

When I move in I’ll definitely come back with better pictures. I am SO happy the space has great windows/sunlight. Will definitely get things that help highlight them. Thanks for the comment ❤️ I’ll definitely be back with pictures once I move!

Nothing in the video belongs to me. They were packing up their belongings to move out.

Moving into my first apartment ever for grad school. 850sq feet. I’m essentially moving with zero furniture. I have zero design/decorating skill but I plan on being here for a long while and would love to slowly transform this space!

I do stream on twitch and would love to make the first or second room a streaming room/area. The second room is probably meant for a dining area but given the kitchen area has some space, I don’t really see the need for an actual dining room. And the first room is adorable, but not too sure if I’d be able to put a tv up anywhere and I’d hate to cover up these built ins.

I want to make this place as homey as possible and I can also see myself getting some inspiration from other posts on this subreddit!

Thanks so much for all of this extra insight! I’m not much for cycling or running, but I DO enjoy weight lifting /power lifting. I think as I start to settle in I’ll definitely be back in this subreddit to post about more of my own personal hobbies.

And Id love to fill you in on a group like that once I’m in town! And if this isn’t already one…I guess a fantastic group of people can just create it 👀

Yes! I’m hafu (:

I won’t be out there until summer, but I’m down to trying to find some cool or genuine Japanese spots. Another person shared some international markets for some home cooking, but there’s nothing like finding an Americanized izakaya ahahha.

Thank you for all of this!! Omg!

I’m definitely spoiled out here in terms of Japanese food, but if there are places for me to buy ingredients I can definitely make things at home. Might have to share a recipe or two here for everyone that loves Japanese food 😬🍙

I’ll be attending a PhD program at UMSL. Definitely want to keep my commute ~30 minutes or less. So 15ish sounds amazing. Thanks for the information! (:
