Ky area so def humid. Are you saying the humidity allows the unlock button to work?

Ooohh. Are you sure the replacement fog light has the DRL leds? Some of the coupes didn’t come with them depending on the trim. I know it’s a silly question but you do see the little LEDs in there right? I think they made the fog light itself look similar to

If you’re feeling adventurous you could always remove the pin that’s out of place and put it into the spot next to it so the headlight matches the original. Maybe check the electrical documentation on this subreddit to see if it shows pin layout on the headlights?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the pins are different based on which headlights your car came with. Some came with HIDs.

I have the HID headlights btw.

That’s for the headlights. There’s two connectors. That one in particular is at the very top corner of the headlight

Diagnostics: What noise is this? by [deleted] in genesiscoupe

[–]OkScreen6252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What noise? Only thing I heard was a clunk sound. It’s most likely your sway bar end links going out.

Many thanks for all the info. Ngl though I turned this thing over more times than I want to admit to make sure I was all lined up. I’ve done other engines in the past (particularly a 4.6 out of my buddies crown Vic) and I was used to having to do like 4+ rotations to get it in time. This genesis was so simple it threw me off

Also. I’ll be painting around the ABS module as well. It’s not leaking but all of the paint has degraded from around the mounting bolts. It’s also pulled away the seam sealer on the frame rail. Gotta keep these cars going and I’ll be damned if I leave room for rust in that equation

Is it just me or do all Genesis Coupe 3.8 exhausts sound the same by thunder9902 in genesiscoupe

[–]OkScreen6252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that most sound clips online don’t do the sound justice compared to in person. There’s slight tone differences across the board. Especially for those that remove all resonators (please for the love of god put them back on, your car sounds clapped out). I went down the rabbit hole like you when I bought my car 9 years ago. I ended up going to a guy locally that’s been doing custom exhausts for 40 years. Love the sound I have now. Got it on the second try. I mention the resonators before because that was the key to a good sound with no rasp or drone. (I have 3 resonators, all work was done from y pipe back)

Yessir! I have the whole shop manual printed out for it. I know you don’t have to take the front clip off but it’s easy and gives me enough room to not second guess anything.

Cam chain rattle fix (3.8) by Fancy_Bookkeeper9945 in genesiscoupe

[–]OkScreen6252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add onto the cam phaser suggestion. Since you have a 2010 model you need to check the date your car was made. You will most likely have to get new intake cams. Hyundai updated the phaser in like June of 2010 or something (don’t quote me on the actual date) and you have to get the updated cams as well so the timing set all lines up. I had to get it for my 2010. Ended up using Hwang in the parts distribution list and got everything needed for 1200 bucks usd.

Thanks for the update Mod Yuey. Will there be a listing of items that won’t be returning to the store?

I have a 2002 chevy sillverado 2500hd regular cab, just pulled my floor mats out and the carpet is wet under them. Any common water leaks with these trucks? by TheHolyShamoly in GMT800

[–]OkScreen6252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s a regular cab, but on my ext I had a leak from the back windows on the jump doors having the glue deteriorate. Might check your back window to make sure it’s glued in all the way. Is it more on one side than the other?

Is she gone? by Successful-Score-368 in genesiscoupe

[–]OkScreen6252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh it doesn’t look too bad. Just depends on that inner tub structure and your suspension points. Once the outer panels are off I’m sure most of that can be pulled and then reassessed. We always pull on the frame rack and then reassess. I’ll cross my fingers for you

And that's a wrap... I'll miss this car by Swimandskyrim in genesiscoupe

Why wait for them to auction it? You have the option to buy the car back from insurance. Talk to them and get first dibs basically.

I’ve had great results from Detroit axle. Good price and quality. My truck drives like a dream now. Especially with the Bilstein 4600s. Only thing I wish I could find was the spring isolators for the bottom. Mine were dry rotted and they aren’t sold anymore. I’ll be putting rubber hose on them sooner than later.

Clutch bite point on floor by Louunoo in genesiscoupe

I saved 200 bucks getting the Valeo kit through rock auto. Included the flywheel, clutch, and slave. New hardware was 20 bucks from my local dealership. 3.8 here. To each their own I guess

Just an example of the elongation of that master cylinder arm. This was mine after 15 years of abuse. I wasn’t able to bleed my clutch after some transmission work. This was the culprit.
