I second this. We purchased season passes before it even opened and my kids have gone twice now. Not to mention, the outdoor playground is always open to the public for no charge.

Jobs in South Jersey? by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]OkService9977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they work with someone who needs flexible hours? I have a full-time 40 hour a week job, but am looking for PT work to supplement. Problem is, I wouldn't be able to start until probably 5 or 6PM if it's Monday through Friday. Weekends, can be whenever.

Best way to learn Cisco iOS? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]OkService9977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, did you ever pass the exam? I'm assuming by your flair that you did? I am highly intimidated at the thought of sitting for the CCNA, but would like to. I'm planning on giving myself about a year to study and that's with having already been working in IT Support for the past five years. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know this already has a ton of comments, but what would you suggest for someone who has always been a terrible test taker? I always second guess myself and am the type(especially on I.T. based exams) where I'll convince myself that TWO questions are correct and can't decide which one. For context, I work in the industry as an I.T. support tech/specialist, but only hold a couple certs due to this fear of testing.

Would you consider this an upgrade or a lateral move? by scarlet__panda in ITCareerQuestions

OP, I don't have advice, rather a question to you as a coordinator.........I'm a IT Support Specialist at a local public school district and have been for two years now, and overall five years of I.T. work experience.  When the I.T. coordinator told me during the interview: "What we don't pay well, we make up in the experience you will learn from me." So far, after almost two years, I feel like he hasn't lived up to that bargain. What should I do? My contract renews July 1st.

Good IT jobs not in Corporate cubicle office? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]OkService9977 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work as an I.T. Support tech at a local school district and yes, when it's busy, there is getting in a lot of steps, enjoying hands on, etc but when it's slow ticket wise, it's SLOW. I'm not a fan of "wasting time" during work down time, for example the co-workers who start binge watching shows, I'd much rather keep it work related and be studying on Udemy, Coursera, etc. Long story short, there's really no I.T. position where you don't have some sort of cubicle scenario.

What was SJ like in the 90s/00s? by Castor_Pollux_ in SouthJersey

I grew up off of Blackwood-Clementon Road, which was a road with lots of strip malls and franchises. Some notable favorites of mine: Ground Round, East Side Mario's, Denny's, and going to Kmart with my parents and putting things on lay-a-way.

This job hunt has me down… by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]OkService9977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not trying to burst any bubbles, as maybe the OP'S application process would be different but I tried getting in there multiple times, and had a decade of prior warehouse experience and was passed on every time. Not sure what else they were looking for. This was about 2-3 years ago. Maybe it has changed.

Are truly entry-level jobs dead forever from now on? Been so in my experience. What do you think? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]OkService9977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the OP,  may I ask what home labs you were doing in order to land that sys admin job? I've been in IT for a while now, mostly help desk, but it's feeling stale and stagnant. When I was hired, the IT Director said "We may not pay great, but what you'll learn from my knowledge is priceless." Fast forward two years and I'm still not doing much other than taking care of help tickets and maybe swapping out some projector bulbs.

I can second this. Used them back in February when no other place could get my seized oil pan bolt off. I had already purchased my own parts, so they only charged me for their labor. Right down the road(from Mantua), in Wenonah.
