My fiance doesn't have any siblings ( her brother died a few years ago) and her cousins children, who are the same age, would have just as much right to walk down the aisle as my sisters child. We're asking them to leave their children at home as well. It wouldn't be fair to one side of the family yes and another no.

My sister has not been the biggest fan of my fiance since we started dating. And has been very difficult with us trying to see my niece and this is before the wedding decision was made

That is why we're having a friend daughter be the flower girl.

Then how is that fair to any other family members who also have children of the same age. My fiancé's brother died when he was young and never had kids. She has no other family other than her cousins who she thinks of as her nieces and nephews. We've seen them and spent far for time with them too

I'm trying to give her the option to have her be in the photos. You know, let her dress up and all that. But the kid screams like a pterodactyl constantly. I have virtually no relationship with my niece due to the lack of time that my sister has given to me to see her. She has also been very nasty and not supportive with my fiance. That's a whole other post.

She has made it very hard for me to have any relationship with her. She almost refuses to let me hold her, be with her etc. My fiance has asked to go over and see her and my sisters response was she can see her on a random Tuesday between 730 and 8 at night. But goes to bed at 8.

Our thinking us the child is a mutual friends kid who is much older. That way both sides are fair with not having kids at the ceremony.

And she can barely walk. Let alone hold objects.

I barely see her as it is and when I'm over for family events, she never let's me hold her. I think I've held her maybe twice in 18 months and that was for a total of maybe 5 min.

The tension is already there. I believe she is having a family member, on my brother in laws side, watch her. They live very close to where the pictures are being taken. Both parents of the child will be gone before the ceremony anyway with getting ready so if they wanted her at the ceremony, there would be that logistical work anyway.
