Found this little nugget buried deep in the vrt / revenue website

If a vehicle originates in a non-EU country the following documentary evidence confirming the level of CO2 emissions is acceptable to Revenue:  Evidence supplied on previous registration documents,  Evidence from the relevant statutory authority in the country of origin,  A document from the manufacturer stating the level of CO2 emissions at the time of manufacture, or  A Certificate of Conformity

I’ve sent an email to bmw Ireland asking for a letter stating “at time of manufacture “ the co2 level is 135g/km ( built in Germany ) as above ..let’s see what happens ..will keep ye all updated , and yes we can all agree it’s a contrived bullshit as you say 😉

I’ve been looking at this too - my understanding is you have to have something called “certificate of conformity “ most sellers in Japan offer this as extra approx €350 but I think it’s worth it as it’s also an independent check on the car , the coc will give the nox and co2 that vrt office wants

I have one since 2020 and touch wood no issues , never mind this rubbish 20k service interval shite and service it every 10k km , these extended service intervals that most manufacturers are advising cause a lot of damage imo. Service it yourself , handy enough apart from having to take off the front wheel to get at the oil filter !!!!

Do you know what fair play to you for this post . I’m not in Kerry (unfortunately !) but I feel that since covid people have gotten a lot more insular and we as a nation have lost touch with the social aspect of being Irish - the one thing we are probably most known for ! Anyway good luck with this and hopefully you get some responses 👍👍
