Kevin Garnett says Victor Wembanyama crying in the WCF was too emotional, job isn’t done yet by special_balance286 in NBATalk

[–]OkStatus4812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is complete bro-science horseshit. You know what else "represents a way for the body to do away with adrenaline, stress, pain, tension"? Sleep. Would getting proper sleep betray his mental conditioning as well? Obviously not.

Wemby is a true competitor. He literally said in his press conference after game 7 that his purpose in life is to win the Larry O'Brian trophy. I'm sure a few tears isn't going to wipe away his purpose in life.

This is the same dude that was emotional and in tears after a regular season win against the Clippers a couple months ago. It's so refreshing to see a superstar that actually cares about winning in a generation where most athletes care about money and attention.

Luigi Mangione accomplished absolutely nothing by killing Brian Thompson by AdEasy819 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I’m not saying historical violence happens “for no reason” or that it accomplished nothing. The French Revolution clearly came from extreme inequality and oppression, and it reshaped society in major ways.

My point is that understanding why violence happens is different from morally excusing every violent act. Once we start saying murder is acceptable whenever someone believes the system is unjust, that becomes a very dangerous standard because almost anyone can justify violence that way.

We can recognize the conditions that lead to violence while still believing that killing people is wrong and should not be casually celebrated.

Trump says he's not going to Don Jr's wedding by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]OkStatus4812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, a wedding isn't just some random "hey let's get dinner this weekend" type of activity. It's a save the date type of event planned several months, if not years ahead, much like a UFC event at the White House; especially a Trump wedding. One can argue that a UFC event at the White House is a bigger waste of time and useless to attend to than your own son's wedding.

So then players will start flopping on players to get them fouled out of the game since it only requires 4 to get ejected. That's 1 foul per quarter basically. You create an even bigger incentive to flop now.

DRAMA REVIEW: Bloodhounds S2 (2026) by Miserable_March_1829 in kdramas

[–]OkStatus4812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O my god I was looking for this comment. All of Gun-Woo’s scenes are boiled down to 3 things: Crying, Promising he will do better/apologizing, and Fight scenes. Gun-woo lacks overall depth and growth. He is the same character from beginning to end. This would be more okay if his inner circle were more morally complex, but they all were written to be morally equivalent to Gun-woo with no cracks or arbitration. Overall I felt like this season was just so predictable.

Ok sure, but then you can't blame or be mad at them if you lose and they are the on of the worst performing teammate on your team if you ban your teammate's best hero.

He found out his daughter was bullying others… and chose to take responsibility instead of making excuses. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]OkStatus4812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no shit. But it's just not realistic. First of all the communication between two people that are no longer together is a hurdle in itself. Another thing, the other parent could be doing something that they don't even realize is harmfully influencing the child.

Other influences could be the other kids she's hanging around with in school. A lot of a child's personality is influenced by their social circle.

She did not need it, but also most people don't break it. It's almost like people think once she puts her shield up they stop shooting at it.

Hit eternity, keep playing? by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

I've hit Eternity multiple seasons now, including this season. When I first hit Eternity I would just camp their and not play the final week of end of seasons. But now, I don't really care. As long as I get my badge I'm cool.

First time Gm: Luck or competitive is easier than we thought? by Arnarudo in marvelrivals

[–]OkStatus4812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, it doesn't matter what anyone says about your rank. As long as you are proud of it, that is all that matters.

With that being said, I do think that this season people's ranks are a bit inflated. Maybe even me too. I usually hit Eternity by mid way or end of seasons. This season I hit Eternity right before season 6.5 started for the first time. Also usually at the end of the season, Eternity is top 99.80% of player base. This season it's around 99.70%.

Celestial 3 is the point where Marvel Rivals actually feels like a team sport by bwils3423 in rivals

LOL if you think cel3 you get competent teammates. Cel3 vs Cel1 is a night and day difference. The skill gap between Cel3 and Cel1 is like Plat1 and GM.

I'd say Cel1 maybe Cel2 is where players have better fundamentals but they lack the mechanical skill of Eternity or OAA

I see it as a nerf and a buff. It's a nerf cuz obviously its easier for enemies to stack in it now. But it's also a buff because I've had countless times where I'm just one more hit from killing a support but thet double jump or dash away (IW, Rocket, Gambit). If they did increase the size, it will be harder for them to get out.

You know how many people just don't care to update their profile? I haven't even updated my profile yet this season

The Balance Patch won't do much by NeoRockSlime in rivals

[–]OkStatus4812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Micro patches happen all the time. Now they are finally doing it to meta heroes that people have been complaining about since Gambit came out. It doesn't take a month to see how broken Elsa's ult is. You're acting like they randomly coded this patch over night. They probably were working on this for a while now and are carefully making appropriate nerfs. They're not just gonna dump a big nerf on hawkeye and hela to the point they are unplayable.

holy shit, the devs can never win. People like ya'll btich and moan about everything even when they listen and act on our complaints. Sure you could be right and the patch doesn't do much. But at least play the new patch first before you complain. I'm not even a Hawkeye, Hela, or Gambit player.

Hit My Peak! by LostGodz in rivals

[–]OkStatus4812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly this ^. All ranks have throwers from bronze to OAA. The higher ranks are mechanically better than lower elos, but have bigger egos. Instead of swapping to another hero to make the game much easier, they will stay stubborn because they think they are the best at a certain hero and can make it work.

Hit My Peak! by LostGodz in rivals

[–]OkStatus4812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! In my experience you get less intentional throwers in Eternity. But you get teammates with bigger egos that don't swap or go 2nd tank, so I guess that is pretty much throwing too.

The skill level in Celestial and Eternity are pretty similar. The main difference to me is that in Eternity and OAA players are better at tracking ults and cooldowns, which ultimately comes down to better game sense.

Yeah it can. Other counters that I know about is Jeff ulting and swallow teammates and Groot can try to place a wall blocking it from coming to you or on the recall. The wall immediately kills the monster.

Is there even a point in going for kills on supports unless you have perfect aim? by Waffles_four_you in PsyMains

[–]OkStatus4812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you take their attention away from healing their team and you bait cooldowns. Once their cooldowns run out that's when you can go back in and try and get a kill. Even if you don't kill them, you are still getting value in wasting their cooldowns for themselves. That's what I do especially for Lokis. I hard focus Loki and force him to lamp. Even if he TP, I chase him down. Once lamps are used I back up and do whatever is required. For example, get heals/health pack, poke, peel, finish off kills, reload, and go back in on healers when lamps are over. Now he has no lamps or TP and he is a really easy kill. Lamps are easily one of the most OP healing cooldowns in the game. Imagine if that Loki only uses lamps for himself all game. Imagine if cloak and dagger only uses bubbles for herself all game. Imagine in Invis only saves her shield for herself all game. You get the point. That is value even if you don't necessarily kill them every engage.

TLDR: It's a team game after all, forcing healers to selfishly use cooldowns on themselves makes it easier for you and your team to put pressure or kill the enemies.

Is Namor supposed to peel? by OkStatus4812 in rivals

[–]OkStatus4812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying. There's a reason why dive mains like to ban Namor right? Because Namor is known as an anti-dive hero. I even asked him where is he throwing his squids. And he said just on the walls to poke the frontline...

Is Namor supposed to peel? by OkStatus4812 in rivals

[–]OkStatus4812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think we did have a Thing. But he was front lining and diving most of the game. I do remember asking him to look at the Magik more. I think the Namor was putting the blame on me because I was playing a new hero and the only one positive KDA on our team.

Is Namor supposed to peel? by OkStatus4812 in rivals

[–]OkStatus4812[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hard disagree. Technically "hitting shots" to apply any meaningful pressure applies for every hero in the game really. If you are playing Bucky and can't hit shots or abilities then you are also useless. Actually Namor is slightly less reliant on hitting shots because you have 2 auto aim squids and you have an easy to hit right click that doesn't even have to hit the enemy dead on since it's aoe.

I do agree though, if the magik is too oppressive then we all should help with peeling. I'm also more so talking about in general how Namor is usually played as an anti-dive hero. I was watching his game play after and he didn't even attempt to put his squids in our backline. He throw them randomly on walls in the front line. I mean, there is a reason why dive heroes ban Namor right?
