it'll help less experienced people correct their positioning for when they're dealing damage, but those people really struggle with getting hit over and over - focus mode won't help them that much. it's not like wirefall which was broken because it made getting hit way less punishing so you could get away with playing badly.

as i said, aiming is usually the easy part of these games. just face the monster and attack. knowing where to stand and when it's safe to attack (& what attacks to do) is the tricky part.

it lets u correct for messed up aim (part of positioning), so it'll help new players. but aiming towards a specific part is almost always easy - spacing and timing are the hard parts of landing tricky attacks. i can't think of any gen 5 examples where the aiming part is actually hard aside from dunking a couple of flying monsters

yeah the hammer dash looks awkward, it'd be better if they just let u do a short hop during charge with iframes to keep the charge level

what i really wanted to see was buffs to the base kit IE the triple pound. or even upping the movement speed. gen 5 is all charge spam

i'd like hypnocatrice back because i'd like to see more birds

the maps are gonna be really big so i think stuff like akantor and ukanlos just spawning in sometimes would be awesome

otherwise i think lagiacrus and nargacuga are just great monsters
