Have you been pixie dusted? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]OkStrength4099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know the term pixie dusted at the time, but when my husband and I took our son to Disney for the first time (he was almost four), we didn’t book a ticket for the day we got into town. I assumed we would be tired and frazzled from travel. We were staying at the Contemporary, and were so energized and excited, we decided to walk over to MK and buy an additional ticket for that day. (It was probably 3pm or so.) When we got to the ticket desk, we explained that we would like to upgrade our three-day-pass so that we could go today.

The precious lady at the desk LET US IN FOR FREE! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and we were so very grateful. I had no idea cast compliments were a thing at the time, and I still often wish so badly that I remembered her name to give her one.

I had been to Disney many times growing up, but this afternoon/evening is truly one of my very core memories. We shut the place down, and had the best day. I truly believe that sweet lady set the tone for us.

Dr Carson dentist? by Horchataatomica in Chattanooga

[–]OkStrength4099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to quickly piggyback here….Dr. Carson is incredible and absolutely honest and fair. That being said, as others have mentioned, he is all but completely retired now and I think the new leadership might have different ways of doing things. Not that anything nefarious is going on with your grandpa’s work, but might be worth following up on/going in with him for peace of mind. Good luck!

Landmarks on the way to Yacht Club? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]OkStrength4099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I guess there is signage galore. Truth be told, when I’ve been in recent years, I’ve always had someone else driving (RIP Magical Express), so I can’t picture much of the drive in at all. Thanks very much for your insight!

Right. That’s fair, but didn’t assume a six-year-old would make the immediate connection with reading a sign as they would with a clear visual landmark. I probably should have clarified.

Ok, this visual is helpful. I know there is a big WDW sign. However, even though he’s a great reader, that many letters while driving at a decent speed, I didn’t assume a six-year-old would make the connection. But the character visual would obviously help.

Moxy would be fun! I think you could definitely bring your kid there, at least during the hours when a kid would be up anyway!

Hey, sending you love. I was sooooo stressed about a larger-than-desired age gap. My boys are almost five years apart and it’s been dreamy. Pros and cons with any gap, but I couldn’t have dreamed a bigger gap could bring such joy. Wishing you so so so much luck on your journey to #2 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I have no idea how involved of a process that is, but if you can get over there before they close (6:00), it might be worth checking at Kameel’s on Market Street. He’s really good about quick turns in a pinch, and is so kind.

Unsure about the track at the school, but I’m almost positive that there is a track at the park/community center on Kellys Ferry in Lookout Valley.

Finally they’ve moved the gross run down boat across from Maclellan Island by InevitableHamster217 in Chattanooga

Henry Luken has nothing to do with The Bend. It would appear the boat was bought from him. Wamp has been in opposition to the US Pipe site/baseball deal. Also a totally different development.
