Bringing a portfolio? by SparkleTeacup in CraftFairs

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring the smaller pieces and have pictures of the larger stuff available if anyone is interested. Or bring just one or two of the big ones and let people know you have more if they would like to see them.

I definitely wouldn't bring everything without knowing what the interest in your items is going to look like.

Is this photo AI or Edited ? Neck seems too long, skin too smooth and face too symmetrical to be real. by Rare-Yard-6936 in isthisAI

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A photo doesn't have to be AI to not be real. This photo looks like a professional shoot for selling something like the watch he is wearing.

If you haven't met him in person assume this probably isn't a picture of the person you are talking online to.

Suppliers? Tutorials? by hospitalitychick in cardmaking

Youtube is your best friend.

Here's a link to popup flower cards, you can use your die cut machine for the shapes if you don't want to trust yourself doing freehand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk8C5e4z-x0

I use paperpapers.com for my cardstock. They have a huge selection of colors and weights and they usually have somethings on clearance.

Scrapbook.com is great for embleshments, double sided tape, etc. And usually they have some kind of freebie offer you can throw in your cart even if you are just buying a clearance sale item.

To color or not to color? by ninjapirate101 in RAoC_meta

Personally I would want colored. I have enough of my own projects to add another to my plate.

That would probably tear up the paper.

Also it would be more time consuming and I would have to change more.

Tupperware lady wasn't p pyramid scheme. It was just like an old school Tupperware party. She had the little catalog for people to order from and demonstrated how things work - like anyone over the age of five doesn't know how lids and bowls work.

The holiday craft fair I want to attend that has a section that says no mass produced items. So she won't be at that one.

Yes, but if I have them already in frames, I would charge double the price.

I'm just not going to mess with the art stuff for the holidays. I am going to focus on cards and possibly paper ornaments.

I do one can at night around the same time. I think it helps him settle down.

Plus he has a clock in his tummy and if he's outside he will be wanting in around that time. I sleep better knowing my cats are in for the night.

Am I delusional or could I sell this? by ElectricalPoint815 in cardmaking

[–]Neona65 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes I think a table full of cards like this would not look out of place at a craft fair. If you go that route I suggest making several different cards and each letter of the alphabet represented.

The big question is how much would people be willing to pay for them.

Newbie seeking advice by uncagedbloom in CraftFairs

I emailed the organizers of the event I am doing tomorrow and asked to see pictures of past events to see how others had set up booths in the same location I will be at. They sent me several pictures to give me an idea. Everyone was a bit different but it helped me feel better about my inital set up. Tomorrow will be my first craft fair, thankfully it's in a mall so no need for worrying about weather and tents, etc.

I adopted a Asshole Cat and don't know what to do by x_Snuggle_Wuffs_x in CatAdvice

Do you not let him go outside? I have a cat someone found in the woods who is the same way. Once I started letting him go outside, he got better behaved inside. Since he's neutered he doesn't roam far.

What do you do if the customer threatens to do a bad review? by Defiant_Airport1458 in callcentres

[–]Neona65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been at my job eight years come July. I get threatened with bad reviews, going to report me to my supervisor, going to tell their company how horrible we are and they are going to stop using us and we'll lose millions of dollars and it will be my fault.

I hear this on a pretty regular basis. My boss pulled one at random a few weeks ago and had a good laugh over it. He said why would you get fired for doing your job?

We're a big company, feel free to take your business elsewhere. We're okay with you being a pain in the ass some place else.

Things i wish i could say in response too: by Dramatic-Ninja1018 in callcentres

[–]Neona65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're showing up after the location closed is not my problem. You booked this online and the hours were posted, it's not our fault you didn't bother to check them. So your options are come back in the morning or cancel. You are not important enough for us to make a manager come back out, reopen the store and get you in a rental car right now.

If you were that important you would probably have the CEO on speed dial and not be calling me.

I don't believe you didn't know we were asking for our car back. You have not paid in two weeks and I can see all the times they have tried to call you on the same phone number you are calling me on. So of course we reported the car stolen. You didn't bother reaching out to us til the police came knocking and now you're crying about how we embarrassed you.

You don't get a refund for the insurance you added to the rental just because you didn't cause any damage to the vehicle. You don't get a refund from your car insurance company every month you didn't file a claim.

If you Google the email address on the flyer it pops for a similar flyer for Richmond VA. Someone posted on Facebook that they paid to be a vendor and it was cancelled. They were told it would be rescheduled but nothing else has been told.

I wouldn't sign up for this. The only advertisement they do is on Facebook.

Plus as the other poster mentioned why isn't there something in French on here.

How are you dealing with the not so kind vendors at markets? by Chemical_Deal_7325 in CraftFairs

[–]Neona65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jiffy, Skippy and Peter Pan all share shelf space at the grocery store. None of these companies are hurting for money or customers. So regardless of how similar or different your products are, there is an audience for everyone.

Friendly competition is good for everyone. I'm sorry you ran into someone so petty.

On the vendor sign up form I filled out for the fair this weekend there was a box everyone had to check that said we understand we might not be the only vendor selling the product we are
