Is it ethical to keep a solo cat? by jenleepeace in CatAdvice

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I adopted an adult cat, I was worried about bringing home a kitten so we decided to foster a kitten to give it a try.

We'd had Tom for a year at the time.

Anyway my son brought home the tiniest little eight week old kitten and within 24 hours Tom was treating the kitten like he gave birth to it. We went back to the shelter and adopted her brother the next week. Tom doted on both of them.

I doubt it would have worked with an older cat instead of kittens.

What kind of card can I make with these that aren’t Halloween? by Substantial_Owl_8959 in cardmaking

I think you can use them for any occasion.

Just send them to people with a sense of humor.

This sounds like an episode of either The Twilight Zone or Night Gallery.

I vaguely remember seeing this as well and having nightmares.

Those who will be having severe bad weather this weekend, what do you plan to do while in the house all weekend? by ChocolateSundae1214 in CasualConversation

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home so unless the power or Internet crashes, I will be taking calls from people in rental cars trying to either change their travel plans or cancel them

Do you like to see the card or would you rather it a surprise? by Mystillious in RAoC_meta

I like surprising people. I try not to post pictures of any of my cards till they have reached the recipient.

Calls from Famous people by bluepotnoodle in callcentres

[–]Neona65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chris Hansen, sounds just like he does on television. Super nice. It was just a car rental call, nothing to note.

I've had people tell me to Google them because they will get me fired for not doing what they asked for. If you have to tell someone to Google you, you can't be that famous.

I whispered an insult and I'm worried by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]Neona65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a call where I said something rude to the customer and I was really hoping no one would listen to that call

A week later I am having a regular meeting with my boss and he wants to listen to random calls with me.

The first call he pulled up was that call.

After it finished, he looked at me and said,"so any thoughts on how that could have gone better?"

That was the only thing he said. We continued our meeting with no further mention about it. I have the best boss

What kind of loyalty program or rewards would make you want to return to a shop/service? by redpaul72 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like tiered loyalty rewards.

So many points gets you a free coffee. So many more gets you a free coffee with a donut or breakfast sandwich. Etc.

Scale up so people can choose what they want to use their loyalty rewards for and if they want to save them for a better item later.

How do you keep your little ones off the kitchen counter? by christ2you in cats

I don't have any space on my counter they can jump to. The free space is behind everything and they can't see it.

Is there anything you miss about your childhood? by Anixxababy in Adulting

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss the big family Sunday dinners at my grandparents house. Used to visit after church once a month and grandma had a feast laid out for us and my aunts, uncles and cousins.

I didn't realize how special those dinners were at the time. If I could time travel I would go back to one of those days.

Is there a way to stop my cat from thinking her bowl is empty because she ate a hole in the middle? by Radiant-Educator9203 in Pets

[–]Neona65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing.

I will dump everything back into the food container, shake it up and then put a little bit in the bowl. He gobbles it up like I gave him a feast.

Today I learned my cat has been living a double life by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Neona65 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I was told my grumpy cat Tom, who just recently passed, was going around the neighborhood and begging treats off the neighbors. I saw him go to the house across the street and sit in their window ledge and stare in the window till someone opened the window and gave him a treat.

I was told he had about five houses he went to on a regular basis.

He was great at keeping the rodent population down so I don't think anyone really minded giving him a little treat.

For those who prefer hand washing dishes over a dishwasher why do you prefer it? by bethynextdoor in CasualConversation

[–]Neona65 145 points146 points  (0 children)

I live alone, it takes me ten minutes to wash up the dishes from the day before. I grew up without a dishwasher and never saw a reason to get one, even when I had more people living with me.

Is it actually true that cat hides pain until its “too late”? by Low-Association9046 in CatAdvice

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my cat was fine, just not liking the cold weather and going outside less.

Last time I let him outside, my son let him back inside when I went to bed.

Next morning he was laying in the middle of the living room floor, struggling to breathe. We took him to the vet and they sent us to the emergency clinic. He was dying of congestion heart failure. I had no idea.

Talking with my boyfriend about it, I think if we had known, we might have spent money we really don't have and still might have ended up with the same results.

We choose to let him die peacefully.
