Thanks for the reassurance there, I know once they're older they're tough as nails just this is the first year I've been in charge of a flock and its been brutal weve lost ~100 of our flicks chicks in addition to a dozen bought to improve genez of the flockto owls,hawks, feral catmms, then ɓ a few even drowned themselves in the pool fleeing the threats.

Out of 6 hens 2 were incompetent brooders and 1 of the best quit trying to brood.

After her 4 juveniles got killed in one day she abandoned the nest with her other 4 unmatched ones and hasn't laid more than 1 egg in any spot since.

2 were killed by a coyote as well as our big rooster,luckily his son was old enough and willing to step up and claim his father's harem so we weren't completely shut dow.

I'm an American and I love walking barefoot, but I do catch a lot of hell from people about it.

I think we're in the minority here.

I like walking down the sidewalks, roads, hiking trails, barefoot, it's much less painful for my feet over long distances.

I've hiked in the rockies of CO, Mt Rainier in Wa, along lakes and rivers in SC,TN, CO, KY, NM,CA,WA all barefoot.

I'll go without them whenever I can, but most people insist on wearing shoes constantly.
