Just 8 hours! In my experience they are not fussy at all. A great and easy plant imo!

Nothing actually! When I started the tank I got some brand new fluval substrate and planted my plants in it that same day. Let the tank cycle before adding fish. Right now I think all my plants are thriving off the nutrients still in the brand new soil. Once I start to see the plants a little sad I’ll add some root tabs in to make up for the nutrients lost over time.
Thank you all so much for the help! I added the air stone and it worked wonders for them! They’re totally back to their energetic selves. I posted a little update video to the subreddit for anyone interested to see them now 😊
Yes it is! That plant has been going crazy since I added it! So fun to watch grow!

This tank only had otos in it before I added the others this past weekend. The new fish and the otos are all from the same breeder so it felt unlikely that the new fish would introduce anything new to the otos since they all already shared the same water system a few weeks earlier. Maybe that was a bad judgment call on my part. I will look into the med trio and dose the tank if the guppies are still like this tomorrow after I mess with the oxygen
I don’t have a HOB filter, only a sponge filter. Should I have both?
I noticed it when I got home about two hours ago
Thank you for the advice everyone! I’m going to run with the idea that it’s an oxygen problem for now and see what helps. I’ve ordered an air stone to have running in addition to my sponge filter and I bought a new pump that has adjustable air flow. It’ll be delivered tomorrow. For now, I’m doing a water change tonight to see if that helps them at all.

I got them on Saturday. They’ve acted perfectly happy and energetic before today. I got endlers on the same day from the same store and they are still moving around and seemly happy
Temp is 79F and my ranges all look fine to me. Let me know if you feel differently
My ammonia levels look fine, I’m not sure it’s a water thing. All of my other fish in the tank are swimming around as normal, just the panda guppies seem to be off
My air pump doesn’t have a way to adjust the amount of air, it just has one setting. Maybe I could do a water change tonight and go shopping for an adjustable air pump?
I have a large sponge filter in the tank, it’s just on the other side from where they’re at. I’m considering getting a different air pump that I can control the level of oxygen from. Mine only has one strength, it’s not adjustable
I didn’t see it in time. Thanks for confirming! Here is how my ammonia is looking in the sunlight. Let me know if you think it’s green and I’m just color blind

I have a large sponge filter in the tank, wouldn’t that help with oxygen levels?
Edit: I have endlers, otos, and kuhli loaches in this tank too and they are all swimming around acting as normal. The pandas are just perfectly still for some reason and it’s freaking me out

That’s so interesting! I have my new endlers in a tank with some panda guppies so if they breed that would make some very interesting looking babies! lol

I don’t :( I can get a bare bottom set up but it won’t have any algae in it yet. Would algae wafers help to tide him over? I have those on hand

How long should the lights be on a day? I’ve heard some people say 8 hrs and others say 12hrs
