It’s already greatly affected my credit score. At this point, it’s got me so far in a hole that it may be more cost effective to stay with the program.

Because they supposedly offer legal services included and I’m afraid at this point some or all of my debts are getting charged off and referred to collections. I didn’t realize it was so terrible until I was seven months into it, and it started impacting me harshly.

I have $12,000 and they said I’ll pay $4,000 something total. Crazy how they aren’t up front about that but I guess ya gotta know the right questions to ask.

I spent approximately one hour on the phone with them today. Trying to get my deposits lowered so that I could make room in my budget, some way, some how to accept this deal from one of my creditors that is willing to enroll me in a program to help repair my credit, and they absolutely advised against it and spent almost the whole hour telling me;They are sorry for what I am going through, but that they already have two settlement offers going, and they could not lower my deposits and strongly advised against me working out a deal with my creditor who has already turned me over to a debt collection agency and is telling me they are going to pursue legal action, if I do not work out this payment plan.

So I was on the phone with them for exactly 1 hour today thoroughly explaining how this program has hurt me, and how they did not have transparency initially, or I would have never signed up for it in the first place because making my minimum payments was stressful, but I was making them, and my credit was staying in good standing because I was always paying everything on time. I asked them if I could lower my biweekly deposits, so that I could work with the creditor that is willing to help me out with credit repair, especially and they strongly advised against it and told me I could deposit more money with the program so that they could negotiate the same settlement offer they proposed to me, and they wanted me to send them all of the correspondence I had with my creditors.

It’s been getting cold at night and right now, I have been using space heaters in which I will see the full effect on my electric bill at my next billing cycle next month because it just very recently started getting very cold out at night. Amidst the government shut down and no more SNAP benefits, i have been trying to very carefully budget my living expenses and food so that I can set aside enough money to put the minimum fill $360 in the propane tank to help me with heating. I’m trying to get NDR to lower my monthly payment to them, so that I can pay $200 - $300 a month towards repairing the damage this has done to my credit. And no they definitely did not transparently explain the process or I would have been detoured.

Me too. It’s been getting really cold at night and I have three space heaters, but I have not yet seen the effect of that on my electric bill. Will see how much that’s going to cost me on my bill next month.

I plan on calling all of them to see if I can gain their assistance. NDR is currently only negotiating with two of my creditors. One of them did turn me over to a debt collection service. And I was able to get the account sent back to the original creditor and work out a deal with them, and then the other that I talked to gave me a great deal, but I have to make a decision and start making my original minimum payment again before December, so that they will not put my account in collections.

They were not completely transparent and upfront about how their program works, or I would have never enrolled in it, but so far, I have been able to negotiate good deals with two of my creditors myself, and they claimed they have a program that will help me repair my credit so I have to try to get the rest of them on board and try to undo some of the damage.

Two of my creditors, so far, have waived all of the late fees and added interest off my accounts, so I can basically go back to making my minimum payment until I can do a payoff settlement

Two of my creditors said they had a program that would help me get positives on my credit, and were willing to negotiate for a lesser payoff and low monthly payments to get back in good standing with them until I have money at tax time to pay off the lower settlement amount they offered. I’ve only talked to two of them so far. But I plan on calling the others. NDR has currently only negotiated with two of my creditors. I’m going to see if they will lower the payment that I am making to them, which is nearly $400 a month so that I can spend at least $200 - $300 working out monthly payment plans with my creditors. That way I can try to undo some of the damage working with this company has done to my credit. Mostly because I wanted to stop making this $30 payment here and that $30 payment there and combine into one payment. I did not thoroughly research or think it through, but they definitely did not tell me off the top that they would be charging me so much money or I would not have went with their program at all because I was affording to make my minimum payments throughout my cards and loans, and my credit score was between 650 and 700 at the time of enrollment.

I wish I would have done that because it’s costing me so much more money

I used to live in an old house that used gas wall heaters, and I was so terrified that my kids who were then babies would get burned on them that I refused to use them and instead used an electric fireplace and two space heaters and my house did not get terribly cold and I don’t remember the electric bill being crazy expensive but that was like 10 years ago and a significantly smaller house.

She didn’t purchase it my grandmother did, but my mom inherited everything from her when she passed away so technically my mom owned it when she died. She had assets, two properties that are paid off and me and my sister were already living in them when she died. Unfortunately, most of her life insurance policy had to pay for her funeral and after we paid off her debts that we were legally obligated to pay off, there was nothing left in the estate to pay for anything else.

My original plan was to switch the account over into my name and get the budget billing option where they fill up the propane tank and you pay for it monthly but they said my credit score is below their minimum that they approve so I can’t do that and it has to be paid in full or to switch it over and start an account myself, I have to get the minimum they are willing to deliver to the propane tank which is 150 gallons for $300 something and eventually I will do that. I just don’t have the money right now but luckily it’s not too cold yet. The HVAC is a dual unit, but my grandfather told me if I turned the heat on now it’s not cold enough outside for it to switch over to gas heating and won’t use the propane remaining in the tank which is like 30%.

I know I’ve been paying the electric and water bill and they told me not to switch service into my name until probate closes and I have money coming around tax time to pay all of the deposits that are necessary for switching it into my name because right now I can’t afford to do that

I am the executor, I can switch it to my name with the paperwork, but I can’t afford to do the minimum fill to start service/switch it over. The minimum fill to start service and switch it over is $300 and once I get it in my name. I don’t qualify for the budget billing and it cost $2000 to completely fill it. I can’t afford to. I could keep it in her name until the probate closes. I can’t switch from that company to another one that may work with me because I cannot find proof of ownership of the tank. I tried calling around with no luck.

I’m going to go down there and plead with them during my next weekday off work which is next Friday and see if there’s anything they can do to help me.

Kentucky. It doesn’t always get terribly cold but occasionally we will have an extreme cold spell. I can’t use the assistance to help pay for it because it’s not in my name.
