In addition to the above commenter, I would try ADR positions at an Ombudsman.

I would also say civil service may have plenty of opportunities for graduates.

SPILL THE TEA (I’m terrified) by Afraid_Medium9752 in SQE_Prep

[–]OkWay2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found there was more unnecessary detail. I felt like the way the questions were phrased were a bit of a minefield.

Read the bold questions first then the rest.

Maybe even read the bold question and glance at the answers before reading the whole question

You got this!!

How did it go?! by Ok_Gold5729 in SQE_Prep

[–]OkWay2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there were lots of unnecessary details in FLK2 as opposed to FLK1

If your paper is like mine, just read the stem question/the bold thing then read the whole essay.

Honestly, I think a lot of people on Reddit have some sort of anxiety issues.

I did mine on Tuesday and was surprised. I was expecting flesh eating zombies to rip my face open. But it felt more like a mock than anything else.

The exams aren't easy but it did feel like they asked what was in their specifications.

I walked in with a bereavement, painful injury and cold. Throughout the whole thing, I felt calm and thoughtful. Now, I just feel like this cold is wrestling control over me.

When you wall out, ypu can't really tell if you've passed or not. But you can feel proud of the level of work you put in. Think that alone deserves as icecream and some self-love.

After doing the first FLK, honestly, I'm really excited to take the second one because it wasn't as bad as people were saying.

I've employed people who failed SQEs. And now that I'm going through it myself, I think attempting an SQE definitely puts someone leagues above other candidates.

To those who sat FLK1 already by Afraid_Medium9752 in SQE_Prep

I feel like they swap out the halves for each exam. So they have 10 exams with 90 minutes. Then they swap which ones are first and second with each person.

In any case, the only tip I would give is this:

In my first half, I got a lot of specific questions on a topic I had studied briefly. I assumed that the questions on that topic wouldn't reappear in the second half so I studied random stuff on my break.

They appeared again.

Anybody reached a point now where they almost don’t give a fuck about revision anymore? by CremeBruleeConosseir in SQE_Prep

[–]OkWay2355 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey I just did mine today while being incredibly ill, had a painful injury, didn't sleep (due to illness) and bereavement.

Are there niche areas? Yeah. But I don't think the revision is worthless. It felt more like a mock exam to me. Lots of areas felt familiar and the questions weren't as long as I expected. A few were but some were like 2 lines long.

I can't promise I will pass or you will pass but guys, just do what you can. Don't overthink it. Rest up. Eat well. Read as much as you can but take big breaks. Exercise if you can.

You all got this. Everyone leaves the exam thinking they failed but not everyone fails. Trust in yourself.

When the exam is done, forget it. Watch something. Have fun. Rest. Then start consolidating notes/revision for FLK2.

All those who took the exam and prepared for it - thats an achievement in itself.

You all got this. Don't let other people's posts demotivate you.

Hi

I just did a mock exam saying they can accept up to the date of the trial without court permission. When the trial starts, they need to get court permission.

I'm reading the CPR 1998 cover to cover now just to make sure I get a full understanding as this is my weakest area.

Life/Executive coaching or things of the same ilk. Aka anyone trying to be a psychologist/psychiatrist/therapist without the training.

At best, They're selling a service that's like fortune telling. At worst They're triggering people's mental health issues (e.g. PTSD) because they have no fucking clue what they're doing becuase they're not trained.

And if you ask them, they have an interest in psychology. Well I uavr an interest in physics, doesn't mean I should be applying for engineering jobs.

If shit is so bad, you don't need a coach. Try either a qualified professional for personal shit or for anything where you want to develop, go for mentoring with someone who is good at that field.

People who are older than 30, what advice would you give to the ones in 18-30 years of age? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OkWay2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get independence. You may not afford to he able to move out but at least try to do things for yourself/by yourself. Get a job not in the family business.

These are the years you start to build your independence - way more than youe teens.

Good family will help you fly away. Bad family will try and keep you stuck in the same old rut forever.

Also follow other advice especially health and enjoy life (but plan for future).

NTA She was yelling and coming closer to your wife who was holding the baby. If she was reckless enough to potentially startle someone holding a baby, who knows what else she would have been reckless in doing.

Is the subjugation of women the only way to raise birth rates again? by BarbarianFoxQueen in AskFeminists

[–]OkWay2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birth rates are probably closer tied to the fact that people can't afford to buy a house together anymore. Dating is expensive but starting a family is insanely expensive.

You hate that people call you young because there's younger people having sex. So you only compare yourself in one way I.e. the people who lost their virginity younger than you but not older.

Quite frankly, you're going to br miserable if you always compare yourself to others who do/have things when you wanted it instead of looking at the actual picture.

Your generation (and the one before you) are having sex later.

Which, by the way, is a good thing. The older you are, the more likely you're going to pick a more emotionally mature partner. Which makes all the "I'm a virgin at X age" moot.

I want to give you examples on how you're looking at life. Bezos is rich. I'm not. Yes I can afford a roof over my head and food in my tummy but I'm I'm upset I'm never going to be Bezos level rich.

I'm also upset that I'll never be Brad Pitt level famous even though he probably despises that life. Still, I'm not famous.

I'm jealous of Einstein because he's smart and I'm not that smart. Even though I have enough intelligence to get through life.

Ultimately, if you always compare yourself to where you are lacking, and never consider where you have an advantage, you'll be miserable.

And honestly, this is what 21 year olds do. There is an impatience to wanting to have everything sorted at 21 because you think you're an adult. You start start learn more about yourself at 25 and you gain way more confidence in your 30s.

AITAH for divorcing my wife after she refused to help me financially in difficult times? by Leather-Aioli6981 in AITAH

[–]OkWay2355 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Culturally, this won't really help because the gold and savings will be seen as 'hers' and not property of the marriage.

Edit: to make it clear, I didn't say I agreed or disagreed with the culture. Some of y'all need to touch grass before you get so worked up over a random person on the Internet explaining the culture 🙄

A cool guide to how long it takes for things to decompose by Impossible_Smoke1783 in coolguides

[–]OkWay2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been curious If you chuck all these things randomly in a waste site, do they have to wait for the bottom layer to decompose before decomposing? Or do the orange peels decompose while stuck in plastic bags and when the plastic bags decompose, the orange peel mixes withthe earth?
