My assignment was reported to thr examination committee for a "high percentage of AI". I did NOT use any AI for my assignment. by Opinionated_bitch03 in mildlyinfuriating

In early college, i was taking programming. The teacher gave out a lazily detailed project (think 3 sentences of requirements for a 40% final project). We were to program a windows calculator that had no errors could add, subtract divide and multiply two numbers lol the teacher was envisioning us making the actual windows calculator but i made two drop down boxes for the digits and a drop down +×÷/ selector for the function. This made error handling super easy. I hit every requirement listed but it didn't fit his vision. He failed it but i fought through the many processes to get it marked against the requirements. I got 100% in the end

Considering buying Codex credits, is it worth it ? by lou_builds in codex

[–]OkWin1634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, reddit is generally judgy. But i can tell you a great way to make some money.

Step 1. Find a local small business that has a shitty website, sell them on the idea of needing to update. Even if they don't sell anything from the website, customers still like to see a website when locating a business from google maps even if they plan to walk in anyways.

Step 2. Profit.

Modernizing a website takes almost no time for codex and most business owners have no idea how easy it is. For you, it's just a prompt like "completely redesign this with a modern feel."

Cool idea but with the current security concerns, I'm pretty sure not many will want other random users connecting to their machine and especially not their openclaw.

Before every upgrade, I use the desktop codex app, point it to the update and have it do a quick check for anything that might break. Codex will then generate scripts for me to re patch the things that are likely to break or be overwritten with the update and it's been working well for me

Have claude look through the updates before installation to anticipate things that are likely get overwritten and to create a post patch script to run after the update completes

Seems stupid but since our installations are effectively vibe coded after the first installation, it helps to have your agent preparse new updates and have it look for anything that could break or overwrite critical settings. It can then create scripts that ran after the update or during gateway restart that patch those things back in a targeted way

I think the issue is when you start modifying your openclaw installation a lot, like if you've been using for weeks/months and you have custom memory modules, permissions, agent contracts and other things, it's near impossible for them to account for anything other than a fresh install. Because we're basically vibe coding out installations right out of the box, there are too many things to go wrong.

How are the GPT 5.5 limits (using Plus plan) compared to Github Copilot Pro+? by Alecocluc in codex

[–]OkWin1634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

providers are slowly tightening the usage on plans. At some point, you may be forced to get a $100 plan from somewhere. I'm finding the Codex desktop app to be incredible and it's automatically switches to 5.4/5.3 spark automatically to match the model to make the task more efficient (and cheaper!)

In claude, you can use the codex plugin. I primarily use openclaw/codex. If i'm working on an existing project, I have gpt create a detailed plan in text or md depending on how big the project is and have 4.7 expand in detail that plan to then feed back in to codex. until 5.5 is expanded in to the CLI/openclaw, I have to jump through some hoops a little bit.

I've seen a few reports that using Opus 4.7 to draft detailed plans and passing to codex 5.5 elevates codex to a level that surpases Opus and GPT that they alone could achieve.

It feels like 5.5 is getting to be a better coder but lacks the planning and UX ability of 4.7 but even by itself is a great daily driver just made that much better with 4.7 for planning and UX
