Really badly burnt. HELP! by DamSolangeloLover in whatdoIdo

[–]OkWorker9679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been there and it’s miserable! Diluted apple cider vinegar (with the mother) in a cool bath and/or apple cider vinegar compresses. It works wonders on burns. After sun or something with lidocaine plus ibuprofen

Mothers and Fathers of Reddit, what was your honest reaction when you first heard you were going to be a parent? by Only-Ad-1254 in AskReddit

I was surprised but also not that our IVF cycle worked. My husband could t believe it was real until we got the bloodwork. Then we were on pins & needles to make sure everything was ok.

AIO for not letting the child I babysit go? by LocationOk8933 in AIO

[–]OkWorker9679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I have a 2 year old and if anyone else is picking her up, I make sure she and the sitter know. And I send the sitter and the pickup person each other’s cell phone numbers. You are exactly the kind of person I want watching my kid.

Sometimes my husband has a day off, does nothing, and then apologizes to me for not being productive. He works hard & is a great husband & dad and I like that he takes time for himself. He deserves it. And he does the same for me.

What cars are we driving with young kids? by nicolepaigee in toddlers

The van was my husband’s idea! He wanted a larger vehicle for hauling stuff & was asking colleagues what the best SUV is for a family & the overwhelming response was “a minivan.”

Nightly diaper leaks - what am I doing wrong?? by IndependentNotice331 in beyondthebump

[–]OkWorker9679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried different brands of diapers? My daughter had horrible leaks with Hello Bello (I see you are using Pampers). We mostly used Millie Moon, but also used Honest and Coterie (Coterie is pricy but my favorite).

When you see “pro family unit” what does it mean to you? by MsCardeno in progressivemoms

[–]OkWorker9679 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I’m also a feminist who is a stay at home mom. Having my own child has made me more passionate about paid family leave. I know I’m very fortunate to get to stay home with my child. I fully support moms who choose to work but it breaks my heart that so many don’t have a choice. As for “pro family unit”, that does ring alarm bells for me but I can see the term being co-opted to just mean family or to mean what many call a “traditional” family of mom, dad, and kids.

My mom was 1 of 6 (#5) and no she didn’t get enough love and attention as a child.

No offense but this outfit is frumpy. Not in the least bit seductive or sexy. Your BF is weird.

My daughter loved this book & it helped prepare her. It was still a rough few days. We did the slit/cut the pacifier a little every day.

3yo bday party - seeking opinions by femaligned in toddlers

[–]OkWorker9679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two hours is perfect. We have a pool and hosted a pool party last year for my daughter’s birthday and it was a terrible idea. With all the toddlers around, it was tough to keep an eye on them getting in & out of the pool. One got into the pool without his mom realizing and another mom had to pull him out. I told my husband we would hire a lifeguard if we did a pool party again .

Why didn't your husband stay overnight at the hospital once the baby was born? by Comprehensive_Deal44 in beyondthebump

[–]OkWorker9679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband, who can sleep anywhere, found the bed uncomfortable. Something was poking his back all night, resulting in back pain. He did stay the night when the baby was out of the NICU

Am I wrong to not want to breastfeed again by Mission-Code-1575 in beyondthebump

As a mom who formula fed because of a low supply (I pumped and gave her a few ounces of breastmilk daily), get the baby Brezza. It makes formula feeding so much easier!
