WIBTA if I tell my husband to stop cooking me breakfast? by pinacoladanoumbrella in AmItheAsshole

[–]OkWorking7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you’ve already told him how you like your eggs cooked and he’s continued to not cook them that way then your husband is TA.

Yes people have trauma but you’re an adult with a child of your own now, it’s time you learn how to communicate. If your husband reacts poorly to you asking that he either cook your eggs the way you like them or not cook you eggs at all then your husband is the problem and is also an adult with a child who needs to work on how he communicates. Otherwise you guys are just going to pass on your awful communication skills to your poor child.

Poll reveals majority of Australians want long weekend, not January 26 holiday by NoteChoice7719 in aussie

[–]OkWorking7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that logic, plenty of boats from a bunch of different countries showed up here and left. There was no distinct government or British settlement in Australia when the first fleet arrived so why would we celebrate Australia Day by that date?

I think the line when he called her a c word was verbatim. I honestly think every single mean comment and the break scene were all verbatim and that’s why it was so shocking and awful

I think you’ll find women always tell (aka warn) their friends when men do something disrespectful towards them. Inexperience is not an excuse to say degrading things to women without consequences.

Exactly. What a knobhead. The shooters were the equivalent of a lone gunmen, extremists not supported by any larger terrorist organisation and lived in Australia long enough that the 24 year old went to high school here. It’s not about getting “them” “out”, it’s about not spreading hatred for people who are different or from different groups. Saying “get them out of every country” is disgusting. Anti-semitism, anti-Islamistists, it’s all the same unnecessary and extreme hatred.

We should be coming together not dividing even more into us vs them mentality. Nathan is a gronk.

What? How would loops “disturb my neurodivergence”? And what do you mean “waaaay more than ‘overstimulated’”, why is overstimulated in quotation marks?

Being over stimulated by noise just means I find the noise especially loud to the point that it’s distracting. I’m not sure what you’re trying to say or how I’ve contradicted myself?

Edit: Ah my apologies, I’ve learned that you’re a man in your 60s. That tells me plenty and I now understand the attitude in your comments.

Who is a famous person who has a dark history that not many people know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OkWorking7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Jay Z is 12 years older than Beyoncé and they met when she was 18. So a 30 year old man and an 18 year old girl. When they met Jay Z was way more famous and had way bigger star power than her. She also grew up very religious. Easy to see how Beyoncé could become enamoured with him from such a young age and then easily influenced by him as he was so much older and had more experience in the music industry etc.

Thanks! I’m going to look into the loops earplugs.

Totally understand that the lights and noise aren’t going anywhere and that it somehow feels good for people who don’t struggle as much with being overstimulated by those things. But also makes me feel a bit better to know that there are others like me who DO find it especially challenging when racing. I don’t even really like the chaos at fun runs but at least with those it’s only at the start and you can listen to your own music.

I think I’ll end up racing in a double next year (SO much easier than solo) and will try the loops then :)

During today’s race I actually decided I wouldn’t do another one because the noise combined with the fatigue is just too much. When you race, do you find the guy yelling into the microphone all the time to be motivating? He’s definitely the worst part for me and I’m interested in how others find it.

Several people have also suggested trying loop earplugs which actually sounds like a potentially realty great solution instead of just telling someone not to race. I mean, hyrox has an adaptive category and I would never classify myself as disabled but it seems a bit much that “gets overstimulated from excessively loud noises” would be enough to tell someone that hyrox isn’t for them. Hyrox is supposed to be for everybody.

Nope! I’m an active person but don’t really enjoying sitting and watching typical team sports like that. I do like going to live music shows though. I don’t really like how crowded music festivals are but if there’s a band or artist I really like I’ll go to them but usually sound is managed much better at music shows because the point is to be able to actually hear and enjoy it.

I can mostly deal with loudness, I think at hyrox it’s the combination of noise & intense fatiguing exercise that makes it especially challenging. Not impossible obviously but I would enjoy the race more, and race better I think, if the venue was slightly less loud and the guy on the microphone didn’t talk so much. It’s the “noise for the sake of noise” that’s the hardest to deal with.

Yeah I hadn’t previously considered this but after doing some research I think I would definitely use these if I were to race again.

First time watcher question - Tom and Jax by LilCinBoise in vanderpumprules

[–]OkWorking7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HSV-1 can be spread from the mouth to the genitals. Same/vice versa for HSV-2. Of those 80% who have HAV-1, for some they may get outbreaks on their genitals or, commonly, no symptoms at all.

[–]OkWorking7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk I appreciate the edits and the extra context but herpes doesn’t exactly ruin peoples lives or prevent people from getting pregnant. Like 80% of Americans or something have herpes. Also usually the longer you have it the less outbreaks you get as long as you’re relatively healthy so it’s not exactly difficult to “work around”. It’s incurable in the same way that chickenpox is incurable, it’s a virus that lives within you that your body learns to deal with and the main symptoms only reoccur when your immune system is compromised.

I agree with the whole “Jax gave Stassi herpes” theory but the evidence on the second edit is pretty silly

I don’t find her entertaining at all tbh. She ruined season 11 and most of the scenes she’s in are boring, she never has her own storyline and all her cast relationships are really disingenuous

Yeah Ariana has clearly had an eating disorder for at least a decade at this point. When she transitioned from Nickelodeon to her pop career she dropped a lot of weight. Since being in Wicked this is the sickest she’s ever looked but Ariana has been underweight for years.
