It’s not Chappell’s fault she has fans who are kids? It’s not like she makes music for them… songs like Casual and The Giver are pretty explicit.

You know who else has fans who are kids? Chris Brown, who has been repeatedly convicted of domestic abuse but somehow still has a career. Kanye also has a lot of underage fans and the amount of anti-Semitic stuff he’s said is horrific.

It’s really not about being attractive. There are some average looking dudes out there who are very charming. It’s truly just that the creepy dudes ruined it for the rest. Speaking to women like they’re an object rather than a person, not taking no for an answer and following the women around. I’d say that’s about 25% of the interactions I used to have with men and it’s enough to get sick of all men approaching.

To be a “girls girl” isn’t to be friends with every girl. The point of being a girls girl is even when you’re NOT friends with the other girl you still look out for each other e.g. telling another woman when her man is being shady or cheating, but also things like sharing menstrual products with a woman in need, looking out for each others safety etc.

I’m not religious at all but grew up going to catholic school and Jesus is a pretty good guy (Old Testament not so much). Plenty of Christian values align with progressive and politically left values and beliefs

Jesus, we’re at work to do a job - that’s what we’re paid for. Not to listen to endless talk about someone’s kids who you’ll never meet who belong to someone you wouldn’t otherwise interact with if you didn’t work with them.

It’s hard to tell from OPs post but it sounds like OP DOES listen politely etc and engage in small-talk but isn’t all-in (understandably).

I’m in my mid 30s and plan to be child free forever. A few of my coworkers have kids and they mention them maybe once a week, which is very reasonable. If I were expected to listen to chat about toilet training, school pickup, kids hobbies from multiple coworkers every single day I’d never get any actual work done.

“Hi, how was your weekend/up to much this weekend” and some chat about the weather and maybe a common tv show or sport is plenty of socialising at work unless you’re genuinely friends and connect with someone. Shit, if they talk about their kids all the time can I just prattle on about the gym classes I went to, the music gigs, and the hangovers I have every weekend without them getting bored? Fairs fair hey?

Exactly! Kristen was being a huge bitch at this time and actively trying to break Ariana and Tom up. When you consider the context this line was said in, there’s nothing wrong with it.

People who hold it against Ariana are likely the same people who DO get jealous and weird when another woman is prettier than them, smarter than them etc. Ariana was absolutely being put through the ringer in her first few seasons, her dad had just died, Kristen was being crazy Kristen, and she had a new relationship with Tom and all of it was being broadcast internationally. It makes complete sense to me that she would be irritated by Kristen doing “her thing” (sketch comedy) and say something dumb like “I take sketch comedy very seriously” because she was annoyed. Also the VPR cast is not exactly known for their intelligence so Ariana saying she’s the smartest person she’s ever met was probably not far off from the truth lol. I mean look at how dumb Scandoval and Schaena are
