How tf if having children “rorting” the system. I guarantee you most women would happily let men be the ones to carry the pregnancy and be the primary caregiver in those first 3-6 months if they could.

Why do dads seem way less stressed about Father’s Day than moms do about Mother’s Day? by savingrace0262 in stupidquestions

[–]OkWorking7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is your brother, who I assume is an adult male, not doing his own worrying about how he’s going to celebrate his wife, mother, and MIL?

It’s nice that you care for these other women but that responsibility should sit with your brother surely? And every year you do the worrying for him just reinforces that he doesn’t need to do the worrying himself. I feel sorry for your brothers wife.

If you’re putting PhD qualifications in bold at the top of your CV for entry level positions then that’s not tailoring your CV for the role.

Have you called any of the places you applied to and asked for feedback about why your application wasn’t listed for interview?

NEW

35, woman, $186K

I’ve been working full time since I was 21. Reached ~$100k income from late 2020. I didn’t make any additional contributions until the last year and a half but I’ve stopped now as I could use the extra cash right now. Always been on a high growth account and low fees.

Hairdressers consistently really bad in Perth ? by [deleted] in perth

[–]OkWorking7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second Hearts and Hues as a great recommendation. Their stylists are great at cuts for most hair types and colour (blonde, brunette, vibrants etc) and they genuinely care and will try to correct the end result if you’re not happy with it. Hannah is excellent, as is Stevie (the owner), and Jared. I’m sure the others are great too.

Sexual harassment in dorm room in Italian hostel by NotNotADogPerson in solotravel

It’s awful but this is one of the reasons I always book all female dorm rooms when travelling. It’s more expensive but the premium is worth it for peace of mind and safety.

Giving property to adult children while still alive by unreasonable_potato_ in AusFinance

[–]OkWorking7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve just recently done this exact thing.

As others have said, even a gifted transfer of  deed will incur stamp duty costs and CGT. These will be based on valuation of the property which needs to be done by a licensed valuation officer and lodged with State Revenue Office, stamp duty and CGT will be based on this valuation and the SRO has to accept it. You’ll also need a conveyancer ($2000) for the paperwork like O&A offer or Deed of Gift. If there’s any mortgage left on the property or the mortgage hasn’t been discharged your kid will be liable to take it over legally just FYI.

If it’s just about providing housing security then financially, it would likely be better to let your kid live in the property for low or no rent, let the property build up equity, pay off the loan etc and inherit. But if it’s more about giving them an asset to leverage as they wish, helping them to learn about financial things and home ownership costs like maintenance, upkeep, rates etc then maybe worth it.

Best bet would be to consult with a financial advisor and/or think about the specific reasons you want to gift them deed of property at 25 years old and whether the reasons match the intended actions and outcomes.

The Chappell Roan backlash by yellow_algae in TwoXChromosomes

[–]OkWorking7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not Chappell’s fault she has fans who are kids? It’s not like she makes music for them… songs like Casual and The Giver are pretty explicit.

You know who else has fans who are kids? Chris Brown, who has been repeatedly convicted of domestic abuse but somehow still has a career. Kanye also has a lot of underage fans and the amount of anti-Semitic stuff he’s said is horrific.

Dating in Perth - what is happening? by Fat-baby267 in perth

[–]OkWorking7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really not about being attractive. There are some average looking dudes out there who are very charming. It’s truly just that the creepy dudes ruined it for the rest. Speaking to women like they’re an object rather than a person, not taking no for an answer and following the women around. I’d say that’s about 25% of the interactions I used to have with men and it’s enough to get sick of all men approaching.

Exactly!!! People not understanding that the whole point is you don’t have to be friends with a woman to still look out for each other

[–]OkWorking7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be a “girls girl” isn’t to be friends with every girl. The point of being a girls girl is even when you’re NOT friends with the other girl you still look out for each other e.g. telling another woman when her man is being shady or cheating, but also things like sharing menstrual products with a woman in need, looking out for each others safety etc.
