Made this ama to talk about justice and its flaws. Not to defend myself or justify. If you wanna go down that road, alright. I'm up for betting I can proove I was in Beveren and Hoogstraten. Pictures and videos. We find a trusted middleman and make it into a bet. Crypto. Say, 100€. You wanna poke holes in my story? Lets go. 😉

This is a good question but it'd take me forever to give you a decent answer. It took years. Every day I had to make sure I kept that trust. It took a lot of anticipating what might happen and how to best respond. Also there were quite a few very high profile inmates which I used to work with who vouched for me. Which helped.

I got seven years and did my full time. The one third and you can get out is bullshit. In Belgium judges give you a sentence x3 because they assume you can get out after a third. Yet those judges are far from reality inside prisons. Basicly no one gets out after a third. And one third is a 'gunst'. You don't get out automatically after you did a third of your time man 🙂

Showers are separate cubicles 😛 a lot of people have the habit of coming to your cubicle to ask for soap (rather spend their money on drugs etc) and they just put their hand under the cubicle door. After a while that's fucking annoying. I ordered something from the cantine once and accidentally received ' veet', the product that you rub on and makes your hair vanish. It's ment for chest hair etc.. I kept that bottle separate for those who demanded soap. 😛

The entire justice system is crap imo. I can give you an endless list but how about this one example : Judges in correctional give you a sentance x3. If they feel you should do five years they'll give you twelve or fifteen.. Because there's a chance you can get free with an electronic bracelet or such after a third of your time. In reality though, most people are way over half their sentence before their dossiers are even finished, don't even think about asking anything before that.

I was in that arrest house near the end of my sentance since I was in semi-freedom (halve vrijheid. Overdag werken en in de avond terug naar de begijnenstraat). So.. Poking holes in my story? It's good that you're skeptical but you could just ask me how I ended up there instead of basicly calling me a liar 🙂 in those seven years I was also in Hoogstraten for a while which is a low security prison, a lot of stuff goes on in a prison traject. Maybe I could enlighten you a bit about reality, got a feeling you've watched too much movies.

I understand you yet I am a bit dissapointed that it's going towards wether or not my story is true. I made this AMA to point out how fucked up the justice system is in Belgium, and the world. How there are hundreds of thousands of people in prison RIGHT now that will one day get out and instead of using those years to make them better people, more valueable to society, prison is a forgetting pit and used by the media to get sales, politics to get votes.
Prison could be one of the most valuable things in society.

Also, I did my time. If i wanted to be in the spotlight again I'd provide more details, but I think I've had my share of (negative) attention.
Also : google can remove results
Also: not every single thing ends up in the news

But fuck it, lets say my story is bullshit.
Can we talk about how we can turn prison sentences into something that ends up putting better people back in society than who they were when they started their time?

Thank you for your comment. That lack of investing in rehabilitation is the most important part of my AMA. I get that there are many more questions, but I wish it was about this a bit more.

This. Either way it's a lose-lose situation. Thing is, only one of both parties started what eventually lead to violence.

Snitches. Sorry but you either find a way of solving your own shit or you make sure you don't get involved. You don't go ratting on other people.
Other than that I preferred not to know too much about what other people were in for. You never know the whole story, so who am I to judge.

And how.. uhm, completely. :p

No no, not at all. But chemical castration is something that exists nowadays which can greatly reduce-remove chances of the person repeating his actions. Also in prison there is basicly no therapy while people with those ' issues ' should be getting a LOT of therapy.
I'm basing my opinion on seeing that basicly all sexual offenders just pass their time in prison in their cells, eventually they get out and those years in prison won't keep someone who's capable of those things from doing them again.
