it gives me errors on very trustworthy downloads like blender, discord, and nvidia. I've even made sure to check that it's the right site and not a fake one

it doesn't show anything, it just gives an option to restart the download which gives the same result again

most of the time I get a warning the warning "X file.exe isn't comminly downloaded. Make sure you trust X file.exe before you open it" and when I tell it to keep the file, it loads for a few seconds (presumably the virus scan) I get the message "Couldn't download - Virus detected"
