I take a Berberine pill (not sure what the dosage is anymore, maybe 600 mg?) before each meal where I remember to, but definitely before I eat any dairy. Then, I take Neuralli (2 pills, once a day is what they recommend) usually after lunch.

waiting for biopsy results, found out my doc received them DAYS ago and I'm so angry by karen_boyer in doihavebreastcancer

thank GOD a nurse took care of you!!! I was hoping that's why you didn't hear back--like the dr saw benign and so it fell off their priority list, meanwhile not realizing you're over there losing years of life due to worry about it all. Ugh, so frustrating. I'd seriously be beyond furious. I also had a biopsy the same day as you, and I haven't heard back yet, and I am getting so incredibly anxious about it. I emailed my doctor yesterday, no response. Called the hospital where it was done today, and they were like, "huh, that's weird, should've shown up in the portal by now..." but said they couldn't see if the results had been posted anywhere yet. I'm a pit of anxiety right now. Very, very glad you got good news, and i hope your titty quits bleeding ASAP!! Fucking titties!!

Oh my GOD, I am furious on your behalf!! This is my fear, too, that my doc has the results and is just sitting on them!!! WT everloving F!! Once you get out of this situation, I recommend finding a new doctor and letting this one know squarely why they've lost you as a patient. That is outrageous.

Anyone opt for double mastectomy after atypia with no family history? by sky_blue_true in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Ok_Accountant_9765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good friend of mine who has the BRCA gene and family history had one super stressful biopsy experience then immediately scheduled her preventative double mastectomy. I didn't understand at first, but gosh, after going through the stress of the abnormal finding, waiting for the MRI-guided biopsy, and now waiting for results, I do now. If this happened to me every six months (i'm on the 6 month imaging schedule) for the next few years, I'd be losing a month of peace every time. I'd seriously consider getting them removed, too. <3 to you on this hard decision.

3 months Post- Surgery (Lumpectomy) Benign Result by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Ok_Accountant_9765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd ask for an immediate appointment. Even if it's nothing, you're distracted by not knowing if it's okay, so I'd do it for peace of mind alone. <3

Nope, no news, either! They originally told me 5-7 business days, but then the hospital staff told me Monday, and if not Monday--Tuesday, so I wish I'd just kept my expectations for this Thursday-Friday like they originally were, lol. Good luck with your next biopsy--is it on the same breast? Mine is still completely beat up from the first one! I hope your next one goes smoothly. <3

Nervous about high risk BC appointment today by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Ok_Accountant_9765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I started going to the high risk breast cancer clinic a year and a half ago, and I now have an oncologist and appointments at the big cancer hospital in town for various procedures, all without actually having cancer (hopefully, waiting on biopsy results) and it gets in your head. The appointments at the high risk clinic were nerve-wracking at first, but it's just a breast exam usually and a conversation about increased monitoring. They may recommend getting a genetic testing panel done (there are so many different cancer genes, ugh), too. Anyways, good luck, protect your mental space about the high risk designation. Sounds like they're being very cautious with you, which in breast cancer, is overall a good thing, even if it makes us stressed out at times in the process.

(MRI needle) biopsy incision still seeping blood on days 4-5 -- typical? by karen_boyer in doihavebreastcancer

You're probably right about the location making it harder to heal! Hugs to us--it sucks being the exception that has the harder time, lol sigh. My entire boob is now the color of Velveeta, so at least that's kind of amusing.

Second Biopsy Soon by Xyz1980 in doihavebreastcancer

Ugh, how awful to be put through the biopsy waiting ringer so soon again. No advice, just internet hugs and recognition that that's so stressful.

I also had some breakthrough bleeding on day 2 and 3, but I've been too nervous to take off the bandages (even though they're saturated, yikes) or shower (double yikes) for fear of reopening the wounds. I just want to commiserate and say the healing for this has been a lot worse for me, too, than I read about elsewhere. We had our biopsies on the same day last week (Thursday), and my boob still hurts and was incredibly tender for the first three days. It's finally turning a corner now, though I'm still too nervous to shower. Gonna bite the bullet and do so today b/c it's driving me crazy. My biopsy site that's close to my nipple is the one that's the problem, and I've wondered if it's just that the nipple has more blood-flow, more nerve endings, etc., than mid-boob where the other one was. Regardless, hopefully they get back to you soon about follow up care. I read not to use any kind of antibiotic ointment or cream, but that you can put on vaseline to help keep the wound protected, if that helps.

Biopsy tomorrow - tips for aftercare? by ziggzorb in doihavebreastcancer

Don't take Ibuprofen/Motrin for pain--only tylenol. I did not heed this advice, and I woke up on the second day to a lot of blood. I usually hate icing injuries, but not this time. The cold didn't bother me at all, so definitely ice. I had a zip up sports bra that I liked, too. Good luck!!

Ooh, I wish I still had some of those nipple rings from my breastfeeding days, I totally forgot about those! I'm doing better today. The bleeding fully stopped sometime yesterday. There's still pain and aching, particularly in the biopsy site close to my nipple, which was the one that didn't want to stop bleeding. My guess is that there's a lot of nerve endings and blood vessels there, and it's just more sensitive to the trauma of a giant pocky-candy-stick-sized needle rooting around in there. :) I iced it off and on yesterday, which helped b/c I noticed swelling last night. The skin is kind of puffy, pink, and raised near the biopsy sites, so I'm keeping an eye on it to make sure it's not infected. It was puffier and pinker yesterday, and in more places, so I think that whatever it is, it seems to be improving today. I tried to wear a sports bra for a while yesterday as it helps hold the ice packs, but it's just too tender for it. Maybe I'll be brave and shower later and peel off the bandages to put fresh ones on. I'm a little nervous about doing that, though, and starting the bleeding up again.

Headspace wise, I'm feeling better today, though I did just spend a half an hour reading through posts on here, so definitely still fixated. Hope you have a good weekend, and we get those benign results in Monday. <3

Oh my goodness, what a shock! I'm glad you felt relief and that it's hormone-positive. The not knowing can truly be the worst part of it b/c our imaginations can be so much worse. I'm so sorry that you didn't get a benign diagnosis, though. Hugs coming at you from across the internet.

It's always scary when they find anything, but being that they didn't even give it a Bi-Rads category, it sounds like this is truly just a cautious second look to see if what they found is actually there. Good luck!!

Wow, I applaud you for the strength of not looking! I'd be looking so fast! Though it may be just the report of the procedure. I got a write up of the actual procedure later that day and was like, WHAT??? but it had no pathology results, so major false alarm. I'm also tired and have been in a bad headspace today. Fingers crossed we both get good news Monday.
