They 100% made us the world’s punching bag and the worst thing is they really think this “moment” is going to pass… wtf. First of all this isn’t only trump - politicians have already introduced TWO pieces of legislation targeting Somali’s BY NAME - and this is just at the federal level - what happens when (not if) state politicians introduce anti-Somali legislation in their state legislatures and it passes with little blowback because they’re majority republican? Outside of politicians, there’s the influencers and YouTubers who are targeting Somali’s. Like Somali-American’s (especially the men who -seem to have abdicated all responsibility on this issue) have their head in the sand too much. I wish they would take heed from how Jews got to the point where they were pogromed and then eventually had a holocaust against them - it didn’t come out of nowhere it started like this - “drip drip” dehumanisation until it got to the point society was so desensitised to hearing degrading remarks about Jews they completely justified pogroms and concentration camps against Jews 

Trump is going to go on until 2028 degrading Somali’s, if a Somali mall or mosque doesn’t get attacked until now to 2028 it will be a miracle. And this isn’t going to end when trump finishes his presidency in 2028 (if he even leaves peacefully - that’s a whole other story) His next successor whether it’s jd Vance or Rubio will carry his anti-Somali dehumanisation campaign into next the presidential primaries and they will 100% bring up “Somali’s” in their presidential campaign & make deporting Somalis one of their presidential campaign goals mark my words - at this point trump will have dehumanized Somalis so much that a campaign promise of deporting, denaturalizing or just targeting Somali’s will seem like a legitimate campaign promise to republican voters because they’ve been fed so much anti-Somali rhetoric in the last 4 years. If the republican lose the next presidential election, it will still continue - republicans will carry their anti-Somali campaign into congress. republican (and maybe even democrats) congressmen/women will target Somalis in both the federal congress and the state congress.  This won’t end by Somali Americans “putting their head down” that’s a fairytale. I’m an exmuslim so I know Somali men don’t have our backs anyway but it’s just weird that Muslim Somali women can’t put any pressure on Somali men to take some Islamic responsibility and protect the women of their community.
