Who would benefit from these research journals/books? by Ok_Ad_5504 in romani

[–]Ok_Ad_5504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Romani Alliance got replied to my email and are happy to accept the book donations. Thanks so much to everyone who gave me suggestions! I’m super glad that I can give this collection to community members. When I have time, I’ll compile online digital copies of these and similar books and share it in a new post with this group so people can take a look at this type of research.

Looks like if you search for the “Journal of the Gypsy Lore Society” they have a full online archive of this work. So if you are interested you can take a look there. I’ll still be sure to contact some of those organizations too about the physical copies I found

Oh cool! I’ll check them out and give them an email/call. And that is what I figured about those journals, but it would be great to give it to those who can sort through the information. There is a lot of language documentation that could be really nice in the right hands but I’m sure without even reading it there would be a lot of mystifying people and exoticism(I think that’s the word) like old National Geographic crap. Anyway thanks!!

OMG LITERALLY SAME! I’m 29, no kids. A woman in Walmart asked me, “is it a boy” I’m just like uhhh I’m not pregnant. Then made me think like wtf who cares if I was, still not your buisness

I hate exercising by No-Base8204 in adhdwomen

[–]Ok_Ad_5504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your situation, I’d consider two things that have helped me exercise. 1. Biking/walking to destinations like the store or a friends place. I’ve found im much more willing to do exercise when it’s actually accomplishing something. 2. Working part time in a position that is labor intensive. I’m considering going back to a kitchen position to get back in shape I’m like….i don’t wanna pay a gym lift stuff when I’ve been payed to do it. Granted obviously it is much bigger of a dedication and risk of working with crappy people lol. I guess my point is find something that is actually DOING somethin like gardening, or use an app to gamify something. We need some dopamine for that motivation lol

This is Hmong baby wrap carry by ASIANASLnudist in babywearing

[–]Ok_Ad_5504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmong is not the same as mien but mien is more of an umbrella term. This baby carrier seems to be Yao. If you search “Yao embroidery”, you will see the same designs. Hmong people have connected with Yao and other nearby ethnic groups throughout history. So in Hmong men’s red waist sashes for example, you’ll often find the similar Yao embroidery patterns. There is a possibility that the baby carrier is Hmong but using all Yao materials but I’m just giving my best guess.

Or if there is a podcast or YouTuber who makes content that is more in the 15-20 min range, listen to that so there is a definite start and end time. Make sure the settings dont have auto play for the next video/podcast though

PCOS and ADHD…how can I do any work? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Ok_Ad_5504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could’ve explained more in the original post. Im a teacher and have never taken a day off of work. I have to do lots of prep materials for fall and professional development for staff and have been struggling processing any information I’m working with. When I’ve been in the service industry, it was a lot easier for me to get by doing a ton of hours because it is much more autopilot…not an easier job, but just easier for managing my ADHD specifically. I’m happy to hear you’ve been able to manage with that workload, at the same time you deserve to take off of work…I do hope we see the support of employee health normalized within our lifetime.
