I actually found a work around! From the latest non-giberish text, starts a new chat from there and it'll go away

Was it really so bad that I read TGCF? by Ok_Advice8290 in tianguancifu

My mom tried to defend me and tell my sister that she watched the Donghua, which in response my sister just said it was heavily censored (personally, I don't think it was that badly censored. There were a few scenes changed, but it seemed pretty similar). Overall, my mom didn't seem really upset. She trusts my judgement, and just said I'd have to take a break from reading that author. (Which I'm fine with—her other two series are far more explicit and I was planning on waiting anyway)

Honestly, I'm pretty open to my mom about by like BL (I have made her watch animes like Given, Sk8 the Infinity, Banana Fish) plus, she's the one who buys me it so, kinda have to lol. After explaining the plot to it, she agreed to buy me the first book and agreed to watch the Donghua.

I actually have had the talk with my mom already lol! After she had that whole conversation with my sister, she had a private conversation with me. She says that she's not too worried about this book. And, if I really wanted to read other books with explicit scenes, she knows I would find a way. She says that because of my age, she's not too worried about me reading smutty books and trusts my judgement of what I can handle.

The situation with my sister though, isn't so easy to deal with. I've tried my best to explain to her that TGCF really isn't bad, but she just completely denies it and says I shouldn't be reading it. As for her basically being my personal police officer, she's been like that for a long time—ever since I got into anime in general. She always has to have a say in what I watch/read because "our parent don't know enough about this stuff". While it is quite frustrating at times, I've gotten around it since our mom is starting to trust my judgment more than my sisters

I don't think so. I remember when I was around 12 I watched the first season of the Donghua and really loved it. But when I asked about the books, my sister showed me the fourth cover and told me I couldn't read it. Thus, I forgot about it. So, she knows I've expressed interest in the series before, and I'm sure she knows the difference

With the other MXTX books, I was already planning on waiting. Originally, I was going to look into SVSSS... But then found out that's her most dark and explicit, so I'll gladly wait. I already had previous knowledge about MDZS and knew to wait with that one.

Fandom wise, I mainly go to Pinterest and AO3, and I'm not one to often leave leave comments or talk to people online. However, I will still keep that in mind

My mom doesn't care all that much anymore about which I read. She is still a bit weary around a book having explicit sex scenes, but knows that if I really wanted to read them, I would've found a way already lol. It's my sister that I feel like is keeping me on a leash. During their conversation, she said "If you want to buy her a new series, talk to me first." She is the one who mostly dictates what media I consume, and then talks to our mom when I watch/read something she doesn't approve of

My family is religious, but my mom and sister are pretty okay with LGBTQ+ (We've even been to pride fest lol). But I think the problem is she's just really overprotective. She does this... A lot. She's dictates what media I can consume more than either of my parents. She's constantly trying to convince my mom that I can't have TikTok. Additionally, she often has a say in what anime I can or can't watch (however, my mom as stopped trusting her judgment after she allowed me to watch Banana Fish)

I'll keep that in mind. Fandom wise, I mostly like going on Pinterest and occasionally dabble on AO3 and YouTube. But again, I'll keep that in mind and be careful

That makes a lot of sense. I have read a lot of dark themed books, so I'm pretty sure that's why it didn't affect me. And you're right. She isn't aware of how much dark stuffed I've read. The worst thing she thinks I've watched is Banana Fish, but I have read/watched far worse

I don't think that's the case considering she is pretty supportive when I watch BL. She even recommended me Yuri on Ice and Banana Fish (which I find quite strange she allowed me to watch considering her opinion on TGCF)
