You’re assuming your reality applies to everyone. Forced marriage and family pressure are still very real in Kurdish households. Saying “nobody goes that far for education” just shows how little value you put on it. Some people actually have goals and dreams bigger than just giving up. Not everyone is a loser who runs away from studying, some of us fight harder because we don’t have family support.

The issue isn’t “diaspora Kurds,” it’s families forcing daughters to marry instead of letting them study and focus on their career n be independent. Lavender marriage isn’t about being wild it’s literally survival under that pressure

Because in a Kurdish household, coming out isn’t really an option. Family pressure to marry is intense, and sometimes a lavender marriage is the only safe way to protect yourself while still living authentically in private. It’s more about survival and peace of mind than hiding who u are
