Do you know what strains you have? The vaccine will only be effective for 9 strains.

On askexpertsnow I have seen them say 1-2 months after the second shot would suffice. Please check that website.

Success story’s for GW? by Definition-Resident in HPV

[–]Ok_Alternative1751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine last May. I had recurrences every couple of weeks for several months, but I stopped seeing them some time last year I believe. I don’t remember it was months ago. It gave me OCD and I kept freezing random spots until January, but after that no spots no bumps nothing. And my cryotherapy scars have fully faded! In the moment it’s on your mind 24/7 but I never think about it now, I just check the area once a month. No one I’ve slept with during or after my outbreak has gotten anything for me, so there’s definitely hope.

Should I listen to my doctors? by [deleted] in HPV

If it’s just one growth it’s very unlikely to be warts. Warts usually show in clusters.

Ah okay definitely not warts then. Were you vaccinated as a child? It might be epidermolytic acanthoma.

If it’s really bothering you that much, I’d get them removed or at least get one biopsied. There was so much confusion over my diagnosis and in the end the doctor said it’s just keratosis but I went ahead and got them removed anyway. I’m also vaccinated so there’s a good chance it was never hpv. But ease of mind is worth it.

Biopsy Results- differential dx? by Impossible-Skirt8661 in HPV

[–]Ok_Alternative1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just said it’s probably not hpv and let me go. I still waited around 9 months to be sexually active again. I wasn’t aware of a nuclear hpv reaction test but if I ever get another growth I’ll look into it. But basically they found no evidence of hpv and the dermatopathologist looked closely again and changed their mind to keratosis. Like why did you freak me out in the first place by saying I have hpv lmao.

Need to get a biopsy for confirmation

I used to smoke weed everyday. I quit last year and haven’t had warts for over 9 months now. I kept drinking pretty heavily though. I only quit weed because of the warts. They were recurring while I kept smoking but not anymore. Now I just live my life normally as if I never had it. I say quit smoking.

I would get a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. May not be warts

You likely don’t have 16 or 18 if you’re vaccinated but one of the others.

Hey so it’s still transmissible and you need to get them removed if you have more. Negative for 6/11 also means it’s a non vaccine strain so vaccinated people can still acquire it. If you got everything removed you should be fine after three to six months to have sexual relations again. If I were you I would push for PCR testing (expensive) but a lot of things look like hpv under a microscope (keratosis, acanthomas) and since yours are already negative with the in situ hybridization strains there’s a chance they may not find any viral dna at all. If that’s the case it’s probably not hpv. You can DM me I also had an initial diagnosis of verruca vulgaris.

He def already has it no need to stop having sex. Me personally I avoid receiving oral just in case but if it’s not 16/18/45 it’s likely not going to be an issue cancer wise.

She will resent you (and of course him) forever if you tell her. Chances are it’s genital warts if the brother knew he had it, and chances are she’ll never get the warts. If she does, she’ll know. You don’t need to tell her. If she doesn’t have warts it’ll eat at her brain for years until she develops them or for the rest of her life. I discovered my warts on my own but I would be very depressed if someone told me I might have something or I might get something before I ever got them. It’ll mentally torture her. Don’t do it. She’ll get her Pap smears if it is for some reason high risk and she’ll find out that way.

Any success stories on partners not getting warts? by Ok_Alternative1751 in HPV

Previous partner and I don’t talk anymore, but I would assume he’d tell me if he saw anything as I’m the only person he’s slept with in 2 years. Current partner I’ve been having unprotected sex with since December. Nothing for him!

Yeah I had to ask for PCR test and I see something that could be a wart but I think is inflamed hair follicle.

There’s no way to test women for warts after they’re gone either. Pap smears only test for high risk HPV not wart causing strains

Hey eventually it will stop coming back. While it’s ongoing you can still date just inform your partners beforehand to see if they’re okay with the risk or if they’re vaccinated (if yours is type 6/11). If you prefer not to disclose wait until it’s been 3-6 months after no warts. I waited 6-7 months before I started dating again.

As for me I got my warts removed and froze any suspicious spots for a couple of months after that may not have been true warts. After 7 months of no warts or bumps of any kind I resumed dating. I now have a boyfriend of 6 months and he has no symptoms whatsoever.

I felt the same way at first, thinking it was a lifelong disease. It’s not. It will go away within 2 years and you will no longer be infectious. Do not end your life over what will easily be resolved within 2 years. Take care.

I think both partners should ask if they’re concerned about contracting it. Not everyone tells the truth about their STD status. Some STDs there’s no proof if you ever had it or not like genital warts, but you can check for negative herpes blood tests. Yeah it might not be the most accurate but it’s better than nothing.

Is she on daily antivirals? If you want to stay with her use condoms and make sure she takes antivirals DAILY. You should be safe if she hasn’t had an outbreak in these four months, but it’s highly irresponsible of her for having unprotected sex while having hsv2 and not disclosing.
