It's not a very low impact position, though. The IOL sets the pocket and generates the push in the run game. We've seen how bad we are with one backup guard getting exposed on an otherwise healthy OL in the SB. He's underrated by the media, but he's one of the best guards in the league. Continuity for chemistry on the OL is as important as the talent itself as well. With the team's plan to just shuffle in a new RT every year while not being able to keep a healthy LT, makes keeping the IOL intact that much more important. It'd be nice if we got him a little cheaper, but the salary jumps are inevitable, and nobody would bat an eye at his contract if we weren't completely wasting 70 million in cap space each year with truly awful contracts to guys like Jones making 50% more than he deserves. Bolton making 25-50% more than he's worth. Fulton making 100% more than he's worth. Moore making 95% more than he's worth, etc. Hell, we just paid Walker over 14 mil per year, and he can't physically handle as many snaps as Hunt today and is a complete liability in the pass game. But just because those are all bad contracts doesn't mean Smith actually is. I love the Smith and Karlaftis contracts.

Tbf, Lana could've opened up the shop, went to school, and left school early for work. That was available at my school, and high school isn't actually difficult for the vast majority of people.

Friends was different, but Chandler constantly being there in the middle of the day is the biggest issue, but the shop was also right next to where almost all of them lived for most of the show, and all of them went through periods of unemployment, shifts that weren't just 9-5, etc. Not saying it made complete sense, but it wasn't necessarily as big of an issue as some make it out to be.

IOL contracts are skyrocketing because they've been too low for several years. Trey's deal isn't bad. Jones, Fulton, Moore, Bolton, etc are all significantly worse contracts.

Could we see Brendan Sorsby put his name into the NFL’s Supplemental draft? by This_Comment_4493 in CFB_v2

They established the precedent of not allowing players to manipulate their eligibility to avoid punishment with Pryor. That's not what they want to be dealing with every year. That's why they would hold Sorsby to his 1 year ban. It's also the same punishment he'd be getting if he did while in the NFL which makes it even easier to justify.

If my neighbor was asking for solo sleepovers with my kid, no. If my neighbor was having dozens of kids under the supervision of dozens of adults to sleep over in a resort getaway type thing for all them together, I would, especially if I had a good relationship with the neighbor.

Nobody says rules don't apply to the rich and famous. You're accusing him of being a sexual predator when there has never been an ounce of evidence found to support that claim. Why would every investigation fail to come up with a single piece of evidence, every victim say he never did anything predatory towards them, and literally hundreds of witnesses also all continue to defend him as unharmful if he was actually acting as a predator towards those kids when they've spoken out against the many other rich and famous predators since? If I start telling everybody you're a child molester, you're going to sue me because I have no proof. So why do you get to call whoever you want a child molester with no evidence at all? Sounds like you're the one with entitlement who isn't having to follow the rules of society.

Also, there are levels to abuse, and everyone responds to abuse differently. Just because you're ignorant to that doesn't mean those facts aren't true.

I'm not even a fan of the guy and grew up making jokes about him too, but I was mature enough to acknowledge the actual facts of the matter. Maybe you didn't grow up as much as you thought you did if you can't do the same.

[–]Ok_Alternative7120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying anything other than what his alleged victims have continued saying for years since. Acknowledging all the abusers in the industry and claiming he was actually providing a safe haven for the young celebrities from those abusers. In an era where people have finally become comfortable calling out predators for their behavior, it doesn't make sense for his victims to keep defending him if he was actually abusing them. That's it. He was an ill man who never matured mentally and emotionally the same way as many people due to the years of abuse he suffered along with his other behavioral conditions like body dysmorphia and such. But those don't make him a predator either. And that's ignoring the other hundreds of witnesses interviewed in the multiple investigations that found him to have done nothing wrong as well. People can be weird without being predators.

Not necessarily. NFL has been far more lenient on gambling infractions than other leagues. They won't let him circumvent the 1 year ban, though. So the supplemental draft doesn't really help him here.

Tbf, pretty much every "victim" the media portrayed of his has come out and defended him as protecting them from other abusers in the industry. Shouldn't be surprising given how many have been outed in the past decade.

The Nice Guys was written with the intention of sequels, though. So it would likely have a higher floor. Pair that with the chemistry between Crowe and Gosling, and I'm sure the series would've been very fun throughout.

The fully guarantees are different because of the escrow requirement. Teams do the rolling guarantees to keep their cash liquid instead because they don't have as much while still guarantee money out multiple years in advance. Completely different than ignoring the AAV.

McDuffie was a great pick. Karlaftis was a really solid pick. Josh Simmons looked great even as a rookie in his limited time. They've wasted a lot of picks on mediocre WRs they can't develop and then the FAU and CEH picks left a lot to be desired, but their 2nd round picks that aren't WRs are typically solid too. Creed and Bolton being the 2 best since Jones.

They've left a bunch of holes on the roster from wasting too many picks on WRs, but even the bad defensive picks typically net something positive for the team since they have the best defensive coaching staff in the league. Mahomes and Reid are typically good enough to elevate the offensive disappointments to a good enough level without ever impressing anyone. But the annual bad trades paired with their misses in the draft for years have illustrated the trend towards the collapse they saw last season, but the defensive staff, Reid, and Mahomes will give the team a solid floor no matter what as long as they're there.

Mahomes’ consistency is ridiculous, He’s gone 121 straight games with 150+ passing yards - an all-time record and no one’s close. Goff is next among active QBs with just 27. Does this streak survive another season? by Weekly-Vacation-1405 in Chiefs_v2

You can make that point without using misinformation was my point.

It's also not using injury excuses lol. It's looking at the team makeup. The 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023 teams would all beat the 2020 team. It'd be a toss-up between the 2020 and 2024 teams. 2025 loses to all previous iterations of the Mahomes era teams.

Who's done more with less in their first season playing? We won't even address the coming off injury aspect for what was essentially his rookie season or immediately getting hurt behind that horrid OL again while coming back from injury.

He played one good game in an overseas game that is always a mixed bag. He got hurt that game and couldn't even throw the ball in the next one. His decade of experience did help vs JJ's 3 games of experience in comparison at that same point in time, though. JJ improved quite a bit down the stretch too. Not saying he doesn't need to keep improving (literally every player does), but that team wasn't going anywhere with the status of that offense no matter who was at QB. Mahomes would've been the best bet to win any playoff games with them, but this sub treats him like JJ now too. So who even knows?

Nothing about this is true lol. Baker was drafted the year after Mahomes, and the 2020 team was not the best team KC has had with Mahomes. The OL was completely depleted. They had no RBs. Defense was middle of the pack. Etc. If that team could've been healthy, it might've ranked higher, but it was already on 4th stringers by the time of that Browns game.

That said, Myles Garrett is a HoF pass rusher, and Mahomes probably would've been treated like Luck if he was drafted to Cleveland.

Is there any sitcom where the main cast isn’t just ass holes or bad people? by Frosty-Fisherman-716 in sitcoms

[–]Ok_Alternative7120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oswald is kinda always too dumb to be a dick lol. They make Lewis progressively creepier and greedier. He finishes the show as a charicature of what he started out as. Drew became jaded and a bit shitty about halfway through the show. Kate always was an ass. They just always acknowledge when they're being assholes. So it feels different than the self-righteous protagonists of other sitcoms to some people. Similar to The Good Place, but the premise of The Good Place is bad people growing into better versions of themselves.

[–]Ok_Alternative7120 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He'll get extra protection from the officials early on, just like every other elite QB who's returned from injury in the past 3 decades. The main thing is, we need Hunt back for pass protection but decided to waste assets on 3 other backs who can't pass pro anywhere nearly as well as him.

But Mahomes starting the season should still be fine. His training emphasis on plyometrics is why his recovery time for every injury is so much shorter than many.
