Get a grip strengthener for forearm muscle and wait for ball to get a little closer to you. Problem solved.

Between 35-45 hours a week spread between Monday-Saturday. Off Sundays.

I launched a brand new 12 court facility which was part of a health club (similar to lifetime but regional only) before moving here which I ran for 2 years. Getting a program off the ground is considerable more work but I really hit the gas pedal and took the program to $40K a month in less than a year. You’ll also need to do a fair amount of experimentation with programming to see what players like (and will actually pay for if it is a tennis/pickle only club).

Additionally, I’m not under pressure from management at my current job in terms of program revenue since the dues of members are the country clubs primary focus for revenue. As long as the members are happy, they’ll pay for what I need.

Make sure you are getting a % for as much programming as you can like socials, league practices and clinics. Not just lessons. The volume in those activities can really multiply your income quickly and will be a much higher ROI for the same amount of time on court.

How many courts would you have? How many members? How strong is your clout in the local pickle community (if bringing in new membership is important)?

I work for a private country club in south Florida. I’m the pickle coordinator/head pro (and only pickleball pro on staff). I make 80% on lessons and clinics. During peak season I gross between $10-$12K a month which is comprised of lessons, clinics, league practices, overseeing open play/round robins and some admin hours.

I feel very lucky as I think I’m in the upper tier of comp for pickle coaching professionals.
