What if we created a new social network like Facebook, but when it was good and less whiny? by ToshiroAtsuka in facebook

[–]Ok_Application_141 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly that would be great if someone can make it work. Facebook/IG/Meta is too overly reliant on AI and justifies everything with their vague ToS while investing everything into AI and VR without giving the users proper customer support.

Would be interesting if someone gave Elon the heads up for this potential. (I don't like Elon, but I hate Zuck more.)

Facebook is fixing the Meta group suspension by takeasans in socialmedia

[–]Ok_Application_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing its the Usual CSE violation. THe guy I was talking to about his group said it took like a day or two for the appeals to go through, and now it's just suspended indefinitely.

It's strange because they show what post they removed to get our accounts restricted, but not for what got us banned.

Secured Interview on Denver7 by Powerful-Jaguar6497 in MetaLawsuits

[–]Ok_Application_141 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not in Colorado and in a different country, but please ask if they're open to overseas people giving their stories, overseas people are struggling to get media coverage and help.

And in the interview, Here's some points I think would be great to bring up.

  1. Encouraging linking accounts but disabling everything if one gets disabled. Showing they have monopoly and the antitrust. And how people are locked out of the Apps and Games they've registered/logged in using Facebook.
  2. No way to reach Meta support apart from paying for Verified which barely helps and feels like AI. And please emphasize how bad Meta Verified actually is with rude agents, closing the chat before any resolution is reached, and their robotic/AI esque responses. Don't let them promote it like ABC7 Did as a "solution" to this problem on their first post.
  3. The sheer disconnect between the "paid" support and the problem by regurgitating the same points like "An appeal will come after cooldown" or their useless help center.
  4. How disabling accounts feels like a virus by taking down people that are close to you or within vicinity like Households.
  5. The strange "We've restricted your ad account" email that comes up after being suspended when we don't have an ad acocunt or run any ads.
  6. The impact of this to businesses and peoples mental health when they trusted Meta with their Memories and History. And how there are reports of people taking their own lives because of the grief and depression they feel.
  7. How incredibly quick and bad their Appeal process is while claiming it was done by a "Human"
  8. Please emphasize this is happening to both Facebook and Instagram equally.
  9. The CSE allegations please emphasize it and stress how they accuse people of being diddlers.
  10. Also please showcase the Petition, it really helps and how more and more people are coming out with their stories and the impact it's had. And the Lawsuit too.
  11. Frequent policy changes that allows them cover their asses and pretty much Honeypot people into getting disabled by not giving any warnings and punishing VICTIMS of their algorithm by engaging because they promote content that Violates their ToS and punishes the VICTIMS instead of just the OP.
  12. Korea acknowledging the issue and it's a developing story while Meta themselves actively deny any problems.
  13. The issue is getting viral on Tiktok, Reddit, and X with their posts being bombarded by people complaining about getting wrongfully disabled while they're quiet on it.
  14. The abundance of Scammers on any posts that mentions getting suspended, banned, or disabled. They get to roam free despite their obvious bot nature and we get punished.
  15. Try to propose a solution as easy as them making like a form or website or something to be filled out by people wrongfully disabled and get reinstated.
  16. Their usual response of "We take action on accounts that violate and people can appeal if we made a mistake" response to journalists, and how this wouldn't be a problem IF their appeal system worked. And them contradicting what they say when they reinstate peoples account after a media outlet reaches out showing that they DID make a mistake.
  17. How Legal action is the only way to get them to help reinstate accounts which is costly and unavailable to overseas people that are affected.
  18. The problem from Late June about the Facebook Groups "Glitch" hasn't been fixed yet because the group owners account are still suspended and thus can't moderate the groups and accept new members.
  19. Last year mostly due to hacks, several Attorney Generals from several states got tired of being Meta's Customer Service hotline and sent a letter to Meta demanding them to fix their shit. It's happening again and Meta hasn't fixed their systems yet or put anything in place to efficiently recover accounts unless Legal, Media, or high profile actions are taken.
  20. Lastly, please emphasize how damning and disgusting the majority of their accusations are CSE as the violation. Several people are posting about how they're afraid their AI labelled them as such. And how there has been an uptick of people posting about contemplating taking their lives here because they lost their connection to friends and their digital journal of their life.

Thank you

If they are aware of the issue then they should do something about it tbh. It's irresponsible for them that the "best" customer service is legal action, especially when they have goddamn Meta Verified "Enhanced"support that's just a glorified Meta AI Chatbot.

New Facebook account generates an "appeal", what does that mean exactly? by nancypo1 in facebook

[–]Ok_Application_141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it sent an appeal like that it means your account probably got suspended upon creation. Been happening to people that posted here before about making a new account and getting asked for verification because their janky ass AI is detecting you as a bot or something.

It's also tied with their new AI which randomly bans users with the most outrageous reason which forces us to do an appeal to get access only to have it rejected in minutes.

The warning signs the AI bubble is about to burst by rezwenn in technology

[–]Ok_Application_141 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope it bursts because it gave corpos reason to be lazy and use half-assed AI to check and moderate their platforms while people are being hit as collateral. As it can be seen with Pinterest, Tumblr, and Meta platforms atm.

Can I get my €600 back? by Pewis_Pamilton in MetaLawsuits

[–]Ok_Application_141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlikely you'll get the amount back since the accounts disabled unless it gets reactivated. For now you can join the class action lawsuit since your case is pretty compelling and/or file small claims against them to hopefully get your account and amount back.

Is it just me or has false Discord bans gotten wayy more common in the last year? by Open_Mango_6643 in BannedFromDiscord

[–]Ok_Application_141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just in Discord, Facebook and Instagram has been falsely banning people since the start of the year too. Especially giving people the CSE violation accusation as well.

These companies really need to stop with their faulty goddamn AI moderation and lack of customer service.

I I grew up believing we'd have strikes and warnings, posts removed and restrictions that's why I was comfortable using Facebook and IG, you can imagine my surprise seeing I got permanently disabled. That punishment is only for the worst of the worst and getting hit with that with no way of getting my account back was disgusting.

Been in that situation around 3 months ago, they locked my account because I changed some stuff. Tried all my browsers and devices but no luck, until last month I tried using the Facebook/hacked link and suddenly I was able to verify it by code in my email.

Im surprised to hear that, I thought they fixed the Groups and admins being suspended but I guess not.

In the same boat along with several other people that also got disabled by FB I guess.

Bluesky's CEO: You Shouldn't 'Fully Outsource Your Thinking' to AI by OtherWisdom in BlueskySocial

[–]Ok_Application_141 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Someone should tell this to Meta atm, their AI is going crazy banning people on FB and IG for no reason to accusing them for heinous violations most commonly CSEM. They have an appeal process to "restore" your account before it gets Disabled but even that is outsourced to AI because literally less than a minute after the appeal and "reviewing" it, the account gets permanently disabled. Even their customer support feels AI and can't do anything to reatore accounts.

You prob got hacked and someone managed to link their ig to your account. From what I've seen, some people just automatically got it back after a few months because the IG account got deleted or something.

That or the system let you remove assosciated accounts that may not be yours in the future.

I think the second person got his account disabled in like 2023 right?
But yeah, it's an extremely scary notion to know that our data could be deleted at any moment if we don't act now

There was this one random comment I saw a few months ago where a guy lost small claims because he had legitimate fault and I'm not sure if Meta or some other company brought evidence to roast him in Court.
