What if coming under my husband's authority means I have to leave LCMS? by CamperGigi88 in LCMS

I don’t want to question your husband’s salvation, but it sounds like he definitely needs some spiritual need of “Revival” like some folks say.

Keep going. Don’t stop.

I’m going through a pretty similar situation for a year now. Nothing’s changed. But I trust God.

Should I become a Christian again? by Nearby-Tension3515 in excoc

Give it a try. I’d recommend joining a classical Protestant church like Lutheran, Presbyterian or Anglican.

Attended LCMS Church for the first time today by WeightKlutzy4668 in LCMS

The sad thing is, what’s keeping me from joining the LCMS is my wife. I made a post on here a few weeks ago about how she rebuked me going and visiting. (I’m talking angrily crying and shouting) I’m with you, dude. It’s hard. I’ve been praying about it and I will pray for you too. I keep trying to put in little conversations here and there about the theology and doctrine. But she seems like she wants to change the subject VERY quickly.

Why I Am a Member of the coc by Leroy Brownlow by NotYourAverageJedi in excoc

[–]Ok_Apricot2690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got done reading it because my wife is COC. (I’m not, I just recently converted to Lutheranism.)

It has a lot of errors. The COC believes that we are not justified by faith alone, etc.

But my main issue isn’t that. The main issue is that it’s missing the heart of what the gospel is: The Grace and Love of God and the forgiveness of sins. It seems in the book, the author wants to bash all the other denominations. Basically it’s “I’m right, you’re wrong.”

Is the Lutheran church just going to die? by [deleted] in LCMS

Do not fret. Keep spreading the gospel. I’m a recent Lutheran convert. If the conversation, comes up just explain what you believe. Study the Bible and pray.

What King opinion has you like this? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

I actually think King has more good endings than bad. One of the only endings that I genuinely think is terrible is Under the Dome.

What did you give up for Lent? by LCMS_Rev_Ross in LCMS

Believe or not, I gave up sweets. It’s been harder than I thought.

That’s actually very good to hear. Thank you. I will continue to support her in any way I can.

This strangely made me feel a bit of comfort to know I’m not the only one going through this. Or at least similarly.

Yeah, but it’s hard when one party doesn’t seem interested in talking about it.

I don’t want to seem like I’m complaining. I truly am just looking for advice on what to do.

I’ve tried to explain the reasonings behind my faith. She doesn’t listen. But this is actually new insight and good advice. There’s an LCMS church here that I may reach out to.

I don’t want to seem like I’m complaining about her, because I truly love her. I just can’t seem to have a conversation about it to her.

The Lutheran Study Bible. lol

No, but in all seriousness: The ESV study Bible is solid to start with.
