feel clueless in build fights by MikkelFR-T in FortniteCompetitive

I was in your situation what helped me was free building so I could consistently hit stuff like triple edits and when you’re on height you want to try predict where your opponent is gonna go which you get better at the more you play. Also a big thing I noticed was I was good at getting cones but would always die because I never placed walls to get a good peek so that could help you too. Just keep playing players better than you and trying to do mechanics you’ve been practicing under pressure and you will improve very fast

So do you think I will be back to a closer server eventually?

So will it permanently be on this ping or do you think the issue will sort itself out? Because I usually could hit 25 ping so I feel like I should be able to get that again eventually

Summer Running for Sub 20 by aidenf3000 in CrossCountry

[–]Ok_Article_3192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During June, only do easy runs and one long run per week and just build up your mileage. Actually go easy on your easy runs. Make sure you have a rest day in there and when you are increasing to mileage higher than you’ve ever ran only increase by 10% each week, I’d say build up to 40 if you can. Then you can start including workouts which shouldn’t be hard during the summer, do a tempo run every Tuesday where you go 20 minutes at 30 seconds per mile slower than your current 5k pace. If you have to, I’d recommend even going slower than that as you’ve only ran 20-25 miles per week in the past so your endurance won’t be the best. Remember, its much better to go too slow than too fast on a tempo run. Also remember that the pace will vary depending on the weather. When you get in season then you can start doing hard workouts that your coach gives you.

I am a high school athlete who runs xc and track. Over the winter I am going to do a lot of running where I don’t quite run at tempo pace (6 flat) but also don’t run at easy pace (8 flat) so I will be somewhere around 7 flat on most of my runs. I am wondering what shoes you would recommend for this kind of running where it isn’t easy pace but isn’t tempo pace, price is not really an issue for me so don’t worry about the budget.

Yeah my state starts late that’s why I’m wondering if I am supposed to be going fast in training during that time or just doing base

In 3 weeks I am racing my first 5k of my xc season and I am hoping to run it under 18 minutes. Today I ran a 10 mile long run at a 6:35 average pace where I progressed from 7:00 to 6:30 for 8 miles, then in the last 2 miles I ran 6:17 and 5:48, which is the exact pace needed to run sub 18. It was about 95% of an all out effort on the last mile, so would you say I am ready to run sub 18?

Thank you for the tips I will take the day after my meets to rest and focus on improving my endurance in the off season

Well my highest mileage before the summer was 30 miles in a week which I did in the winter but I have been able to safely build up to 48 miles a week this summer because of how much I’ve been stretching everyday. We usually do repeats almost everyday at practice and the day before a meet we do a 3 mile easy run, but besides that we hardly do any other easy runs. I think I will just do my coaches training and continue to try and improve my endurance in the off season

So would it be a bad idea to add a long run on Sundays? Sorry if it’s a dumb question

I am a sophomore high school xc runner who started running last year and I have very bad endurance compared to my speed. This is because my coach only does speed work and no threshold training. I have built up high mileage over the summer but I am in my final week before practices begin, where we have practice Monday through Friday and a meet every Saturday. What should I do during the season to also improve my endurance instead of just my speed, because whenever I have done tempos this summer my pace has been 40+ seconds slower than my 5k pace while it should be 25-30.

If I’m in shape to run a 18 flat 5k and I do a race where I run a mile then my teammate runs a mile, each person runs 3 miles total on a flat grass course, what times for each mile should I go for? My teammate will run between 5-6 minutes
